2XKO Esports Begins: Riot Announces 22 Tournaments for 2025
It's been several weeks since the 2XKO Closed Beta began, and the response has been nothing short of positive so far. Now, Riot Games will be opening the game up to everyone. If you're eager to try out Riot's new fighting game but haven't had the chance to do so yet, then you'll be glad to know that 2XKO will soon be entering into Early Access – no invite required.
This, however, is only the beginning. With the game heading into Early Access, Riot also announced the launch of First Impact, a new competitive play program that will sponsor 2XKO tournaments all over the globe.
Early Access: Doors Wide Open
The wait is almost over. Anyone and everyone will be able to get their hands on 2XKO once the game enters into Early Access on October 7th. This will also launch 2XKO's Season 0, introducing the game's 10th champion at the same time (who will be playable right off the bat).
Anything that players earn during Early Access – be it champions, skins, mastery rewards, or more – will remain in the player's account moving forward so that you don't have to start over.
As for the future, Riot has announced that 2XKO will feature 5 seasons in 2026, with each season introducing a brand new playable champion, as well as fresh in-game content and rewards.
The Start of 2XKO Esports
It's fair to say that the game's esports scene will see the light of day sooner than a lot of us were expecting. The very first Riot-supported 2XKO tournament will take place from October 10-12, in Nice, France, under the banner of Evo France: 2 NICE KO.
This will be an eventful occasion as it will kickstart Riot's First Impact program, which will sponsor a total of 22 community-led tournaments all across America, Europe, and Asia in 2025 alone.
While every single one of these events will be community-run, they will each receive a Riot-sponsored pot bonus to up the stakes. Additionally, if a duo ends up winning one of these tournaments, they will receive an additional $2,500 on top of their existing prize. All winners will also earn the exclusive title of Local Legend to pair with their 2XKO accounts.
