The International 2022 Champions, Tundra Esports, are currently dominating the WEU DPC Division Summer Tour. They are undefeated thus far. They had humbled Team Liquid, the kings of DPC, and now they had triumphed over Gaimin Gladiators, the back-to-back Major Champions.

Team Liquid gave Tundra a hard time getting the victory. However, against Gaimin Gladiators, Tundra took the clean sweep with ease. With The International around the corner, Tundra Esports is warming up to defend its title. Here’s a quick recap of the action that happened.

Game 1

Gaimin Gladiators tried to play a fast-tempo game with a midlane Void Spirit in game 1. At first, it looks as though things are working out for GG. They got multiple kills during the bounty rune skirmish. However, Tundra responded fast, taking back the much-needed kills during the laning stage and halting the snowball attempt from GG.

Gaimin tried to pressure Tundra at the end of the laning, but it quickly turned against them. With their offlane Dark Seer and midlane Timbersaw coming online earlier than expected, Tundra quickly chased GG’s heroes off the map, forcing GG to match their aggression. However, as GG lost skirmish after skirmish, their cores started to fall off from the game. Eventually, at 29 minutes, Gaimin tapped out early from game 1.

Game 2

In game 2, Tundra picked a soft support Slark, but they dominated the laning stage with their picks. Nine on his midlane, Queen of Pain, destroyed Quinn’s signature, Pangolier mid. Their safelane combo of Sven and Techies wrecked GG’s KOTL and Dark Seer at offlane.

The game quickly went out of control as Tundra snowballed this laning advantage into the mid-game. As the carry Sven farms, Tundra groups up behind their midlane QOP and forces GG to break up their snowball attempt. Gaimin tried their best and showed some signs of life, but their hopes quickly vanished as Tundra’s well-farmed carry, Sven, started responding to skirmishes. Having no answers to Tundra’s draft, at 22 minutes, Gaimin tapped out from game 2, giving the series to Tundra Esports.

Consequences

Due to this, Tundra Esports qualified for the Bali Major and are still in the top seed of WEU groups, and they are looking to close out the Summer Tour without getting defeated. Tundra’s final match for the Summer Tour is against Team Secret, and it will take place on Friday. Gaimin Gladiators, on the other hand, is set to go up against D2 Hustlers. Their results will have a crucial impact on deciding whether or not there will be a tiebreaker series.
