North American esport organization TSM (Team Solo Mid) announced that they are releasing their Dota 2 roster. The company has said they are departing the North America scene and there will be news in the future regarding their involvement with Dota 2.

The departing players will stick together and return to their original name, Team Undying.

Team Undying had a solid record in 2021, placing third in the DPC Tours. North America has two spots per Major, so a bronze medal during the Tours is insufficient to make it to International LAN events.

Undying managed to qualify for The International 10 (TI10) through the regional open qualifiers. The squad didn't go very far, placing 13-16th overall. Due to TI10's monstrous prize pool, that's an impressive haul of USD $600,300.

After placing second in the first Tour of the 2022 DPC season, the lineup was picked up by TSM, no longer called Team Undying. This gave the players a sense of security after scrapping tournament winnings for years.

TSM started strong, taking second place in ESL One Sweden. That was the peak of their success as they could never place first at any tournament outside of North America.

The death blow for the lineup came at TI12. Despite placing in the top 12 of the tournament, due to the greatly reduced funding, TSM took home only USD $66,000, barely 10% of what they made two years prior at the same event.

With the expenses of running a team in North America and a reduced prize pool from tournaments, TSM decided to release its roster. It's unknown now if they will sign another squad, relocate to a different region, or exit the sport entirely.

As for the departing players, back to their original tag of Team Undying, they first found success at ESL One and their attendance in Kuala Lumpur could be the tournament that nets them a big sponsor or forces them to live on tournament earnings again.
