Cloud9 are heating up, FlyQuest are cooling down and 100 Thieves are stealing back lost time — here's what we learned from the seventh and penultimate week of the 2023 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Spring Split.

The Recall: What we learned from LCS Week 7

C9 and 100T were the only two teams to record 2-0 Week 7s, and FLY's 1-1 weekend allowed C9 to tie them at the top of the table with a 12-3 record. C9 currently leads the league in fewest deaths (121 in 15 games), best kill-death ratio (1.79), and shortest average game time (31.2 minutes). The team's new mid laner Jang “EMENES” Min-soo went 8/3/12 (6.7 KDA) in Week 7 and received the Player of the Week award; he's also won four Player of the Game awards in his six-game LCS career -- five of which were wins -- putting him in third place on the split behind Evil Geniuses jungler Kacper "Inspired" Słoma (6) and FLY bot laner Lee "Prince" Chae-hwan (5).

C9 bot laner Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol has his own impressive stat line, leading all players who've played all their team's games with the best KDA ratio (13.7) and fewest deaths on a 64/11/87 score. Finally, jungler Robert "Blaber" Huang leads the league in CS difference at 10 minutes (9.6) and Week 7 jungle percentage (56%, tied with 100T jungler Can "Closer" Çelik).

The other 2-0 Week 7 team, 100T, led in both kills and deaths (31-7, 4.43) and logged four of the top five weekly KDAs: mid laner Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg ranked first with a 8/0/16 score and ratio of 24; bot laner Yiliang "Doublelift” Peng's 4/0/15 score and ratio of 19  tied with EG top laner Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho for second; Closer's 13/2/13 score and 13 ratio ranked third; and support Alan "Busio" Cwalina's 0/2/25 KDA and 12.5 ratio ranked fourth as well as leading all player on the week in total assists.

EG fell to C9 on March 9, but the team's bot laner Ian Victor "FBI" Huang led in kills (15) and kill share (51.7%), and had the second best damage per minute score with 825. EG also still possesses the best gold difference at 15 minutes number with 1,230.

Other notable stats

  • Dignitas' -11.1% is the worst gold spent percentage difference of any team this split.
  • FLY jungler Mingyi "Spica" Lu's 3/10/14 KDA in Week 7 was tied for second most deaths after Counter Logic Gaming support Philippe "Poome" Lavoie-Giguere's 11.
  • Despite a shaky few weeks, FLY Prince still leads all players in kills with 88 in 15 games.
  • Zeri leads all champions with 150 kills in 31 games.
  • Vi, Annie and Caitlyn were picked or banned in every game in Week 7.
