The meta in Dota 2 patch 7.39 is hazy and it's not clear which heroes will dominate the game in the month leading up to the Esports World Cup. While there remains a lot to find out, some heroes have emerged as very strong picks early in the patch.

In this article we will list the best support heroes to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.39. These heroes are relatively easy to use while also providing incredible utility to the team.

The Best Supports To Grind MMR In Dota 2 Patch 7.39

Disruptor

Disruptor now has a 1.6 second slow at level 1.

While Disruptor got very minor nerfs to his talents, it is more than made up by the massive buff to the Thunderstorm facet. Thunder Strike slow goes from 0.4 seconds to 0.8 per strike.

This allows Thunder Strike to slow enemies by 0.8 seconds every 2 seconds, and a total of 3.2 seconds over the spell's duration. The slow isn't just a 100% movement slow, it also greatly reduces attack speed, making trades much easier for the hero.

Thunderstorm basically allows the hero to always win the laning stage, while also providing very useful utility in team fights.

Besides that, Disruptor is still the same old Glimpse-to-fountain hero we all know and love. He scales incredibly well with Aghanim's Scepter, making him an ideal late-game support. His main problem is the fact that he needs to snowball to win the game, but that's a lot easier to do with the new buffs.

It's no wonder the hero retains a near 53% win rate in Immortal games. Between his powerful laning stage, annoying kit, and incredible late-game prowess, Disruptor is one of the best supports to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.39.

Abaddon

Abaddon is one of the best supports for grinding mmr in Dota 2 patch 7.38.
Not the best innate, but still a great support.

Abaddon is a flexible hero who can fit in both support roles. The biggest buff the hero received was that he finally has a useful Aghanim's Shard. We no longer groan when he gets it from Tormentors

The old upgrade allowed him to do more damage with Mist Coil, which was nice for core Abaddon's but useless if your item build consists of a Magic Wand and Mekansm.

Now both playstyles for the hero benefit from the Shard. It allows the shield to deal 75% of damage received on top of the burst damage when it expires. Every Aphotic shield now deals 365 damage, up to 507 with the level 20 talent.

That's a pretty incredible amount of damage from a "support hero. Oh and that's not even going into his facet.

Before 7.39, support Abaddon had a tough choice to make. Lower cooldowns for his items and abilities, or a much stronger Aphotic Shield? well now you get both!

Players can pick The Quickening facet and pick up an Aghanim's Shard to combine both previous facets into one. It's a huge power spike for the hero and well worth rushing at 15 minutes. Just ensure you have the mana to spam it.

Shadow Shaman

Shadow Shaman is one of the best disabling supports for grinding MMR.

If the Abaddon and Disruptor are a little too passive for you, then Shadow Shaman might be what you're looking for.

The hero received a 20% damage buff to his ultimate when using Massive Serpent Ward. That is a hefty increase and the ward has always been quite hard to bring down.

Aside from that, Wards will now aim for the nearest enemy hero. This is a huge quality of life change, as players no longer have to worry about Serpent Ward(s) wasting attack on creeps and manually targeting with the snake.

Similar to Disruptor, aside from just being buffed, Shadow Shaman remains the same hero. You rush Aether Lens and Blink Dagger and then go for Black King Bar to use your spells or Refresher Orb to bring down buildings. It's simple but it gets you 55% win rate in Ancient games.

And those are our three picks for the best supports to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.39. Let us know what you've been spamming and how the patch has been treating you so far!
