The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Stage 3 has officially concluded. Now, we enter the MVM Dome with the final eight competitors, who will play on the biggest stage for the second Counter-Strike Major trophy of the year.

StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Playoffs Teams:

After three chaotic Swiss stages, the Budapest Major enters the familiar single-elimination bracket Playoffs. From this point forward, all games are best-of-three (Bo3), and for the first time, we have a best-of-five (Bo5) Grand Final at a Counter-Strike Major.

The eight teams playing the stage, contrary to the nature of Swiss, are very much the usual suspects attending the Playoffs of any S-tier CS tournament.

These eight teams who will battle over the Budapest Major 2025 trophy are:

FURIA [Record: 3-0 | Teams Defeated: NAVI, Imperial, G2]

Many have FURIA as the tournament favorites, and their performance in Budapest has only further solidified this belief. The FalleN-led squad is simply playing their brand of CS with confidence. This has worked and will continue to work well into the Playoffs. Also... molodoy.

Team Spirit [Record: 3-0 | Teams Defeated: Liquid, FaZe, MOUZ]

Donk has had an amazing start to the Major. This time, however, Team Spirit aren’t getting dragged on by their hyper-carry, but are very much trying to match their star’s level. This has put them in a really strong position to make a dream run and contend for the trophy.

MOUZ [Record: 3-1 | Teams Defeated: PARIVISION, B8, Falcons | Lost to: (R3) Spirit]

MOUZ’s form coming into the Major wasn’t necessarily the best, but they have been playing solid Counter-Strike. Now, if their players can only find a faster gear, they will definitely make a strong case for themselves.

Team Vitality [Record: 3-1 | Teams Defeated: 3DMAX, B8, NAVI | Lost to: (R1) FaZe]

Vitality doesn’t look as sharp as their peak earlier this year. But if the win over NAVI told us anything, it is that the individual talent of Team Vitality is enough to win games. These hard-earned wins might be the catalyst they needed to rediscover their synergy and tear through the Playoffs.

The MongolZ [Record: 3-1 | Teams Defeated: Liquid, FaZe, G2 | Lost to: (R1) Imperial]

Not many expected MongolZ to make it through, even less expected them to drop just one map, and fewer yet expected the solid performance they have shown. While they are missing Senzu, it might have been a blessing in disguise. Not in the sense that they would’ve performed worse with Senzu, but the situation forced them to evolve and, even if they don’t win the Major, they will be a better team next year.

NAVI [Record: 3-2 | Teams Defeated: PARIVISION, paiN, B8 | Lost to: (R1) FURIA, (R4) Vitality]

NAVI comfortably sits on the line that separates tier 1 and 2 of Counter-Strike. They win the games where they are clearly better than their opponents, and give the top tier of Counter-Strike a hard time. They are very stable, and if more individuals step up, similar to b1t and w0nderful, they can be the challengers/dark horses that upset the Major.

FaZe Clan [Record: 3-2 | Teams Defeated: Vitality, 3DMAX, Passion UA | Lost to: (R2) Spirit, (R3) MongolZ]

Only one word defines the FaZe's run so far, and that is Magic. After almost missing out on Stage 2, FaZe have consistently looked better as a team. Going into the Playoffs, the biggest question mark will be the inconsistent broky. If their AWPer finds a footing before stepping on the arena, we will witness a deep run.

Team Falcons [Record: 3-2 | Teams Defeated: Imperial, Passion UA, G2 | Lost to: (R1) B8, (R4) MOUZ ]

Despite losing the first game to B8, Falcons played amazing Counter-Strike throughout Stage 3. While they just narrowly clinched the Playoffs of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, every player on the team has stepped up and if they can consistently perform, especially NiKo and m0NESY, they should make a good run.

The MVM Dome will now host the remainder of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 starting December 11.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
