Speedrun day: LCK Week 6, Day 1 recap

Gen.G beat Nongshim RedForce and Dplus KIA won against kt Rolster in a pair of 2-0 decisions on Feb. 22, the first day of Week 6 of the 2023 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split at LOL Park in Seoul, South Korea.

Annie, a recently buffed champion who's seen play in mid lane and support, was banned in all four games on the night.

Game 1: GEN wins

Gen.G won a back-and-forth Game 1 against Nongshim RedForce in 29:38 by a 15-7 score. GEN mid laner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon earned Player of the Game honors for his 5/1/5 Sylas; top laner Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon finished 4/0/2 on Jayce; bot laner Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan added a 2/1/5 KDA on Varus; and jungler Han "Peanut" Wang-ho went 4/3/6 on Sejuani. In the longest game of the day, Gen.G found their eighth series victory of the split with a 20-11 victory against Nongshim RedForce in 35:45. GEN Chovy led in kills on his 9/3/10 Kassadin after going down 0/2/0 early, while Doran earned POTG for a mammoth 4/2/11 Jax performance and Peyz went 5/2/7 on Varus. In supportive roles, Peanut and support Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong combined for a 2/4/23 score on Sejuani and Karma.
