It’s that time again for Rocket League fans as the RLCS 2022-23 Spring Cups are due to begin. Both the North American, Oceania, Middle Eastern and North African regions will be taking to the pitch on May 19th, with the rest of the world following on May 26th. This is yet another opportunity for fans of Rocket League to keep up with exactly who is the very best in the game.

Of course, the higher the teams are able to place, the more RLCS ponts they’ll be able to claim, which could land them with a spot in the RLCS Spring Major in early July.

RLCS 2022-23 - Who’s Hot?

With so many regions competing in these RLCS 2022-23 Spring Cups, it can be kind of difficult to know which games to watch. If you watched every game in every region, you really wouldn’t have time for much else. Luckily, the RLCS have decided to spread things out a little bit to make the viewing experience a little different!

RLCS Major Winners Competing in NA and Europe

For the very best in Rocket League, it’s probably a good idea to turn your attention to the most recent Major winners. These teams have already proved that they deserve a place at the RLCS World Championship tournament this year, but can they do it again? This means Gen.G Mobil1 Racing from North America and French org Karmine Corp from the EU will be two of the top teams to watch out for.

You can catch Gen.G heading into their first game on May 19th, where they’ll be facing off against closed qualifier inductees, the illustriously named hey bro. Should they make it through this first game, Gen.G will then also need to take down the winner of Spacestation v NRG to proceed to the UB quarterfinals.

Fans of Karmine Corp will need to wait a little longer, until May 26th to see them kick off. The seeds have not yet been sewn in Europe yet so keep your eye out to see who will be the first opponent.

Cinderella Stories

Everyone loves an underdog, right? The RLCS 2022-23 Spring Cups will have their fair share of new teams coming up through both open and closed qualifiers. In fact, of the 16 teams competing in regions such as North America, only 8 have made it through on their point ranking alone. That means there was a harder road ahead for those teams that haven’t earned the required number of points.

It may come as something of a surprise that among them was FURIA Esports. The Brazilian team may have placed 3rd - 4th in the RLCS World Championships last year but they have had something of a nightmare season so far. With just one split left to go until this year’s rendition of Worlds, FURIA have yet to attend a Major. They might not be used to finding themselves as underdogs but they’ll certainly be one to watch as they fight for a chance to play at the final Major of the year. It’s not too late to find their way into the list of the very best Rocket League teams in the world.
