Jason “Beaulo” Doty was touted as one of if not the best Rainbow Six Siege players. However, on the 28th of January, the TSM prodigy decided it was time to hang up his mouse, and retire from the pro scene.

His Decision:

In the professional Rainbow Six Siege scene, Beaulo is one of the few players who had managed the transition from content creator to pro athlete and won it all. Among other accolades, he was a Pro League winner, a Major winner, and also one of the very few coveted players who got to lift the Hammer and be crowned World Champion at the Six Invitational. However, after having accomplished so much, he felt that continuing in the pro scene wasn’t the best decision for his brand and his image.

He felt that he had fulfilled his dream. And with the steady decline of the Siege Pro Scene, it was the best decision to make. He also mentioned that it was not the best decision in regard to the health of the sport, seeing as he was the highest paid Siege player in current professional play. He had made a lot of sacrifices as a content creator to be able to perform at the international level.

The S.I. 2022 Champion felt that he had come to a crossroads. It was time to decide if he wanted to keep on sacrificing his brand and community that helped him to get where he is now, just to be able to play in competitive Rainbow Six. Or if it was finally time for him to call it quits. He mentioned that it was something that needed to happen. According to him, he felt he had neglected his community.

The Future:

He has decided to become a full-time content creator, with scheduled streams and timely uploads. He is also going to focus on himself a lot more now. Not having the constant pressure of performance looming over him definitely helps. However, this time he wants it to be different than how it was when he was signed to TSM. He wants to make his streams and videos more content oriented. Not like a pro player who streams for practice.

He is open to the idea of returning to the pro scene, if and when a team would need a substitute for an event. But apart from that he has no wishes to return anytime soon. At least until he feels like the Pro Scene is healthy enough. And if it is the right decision for him to take at the time. But he is firm in his choice that he wants to retire as a content creator.

He has decided to stick with Rainbow Six Siege as his game of choice, and cater his content around the game. Although, he is also open to checking out new titles, such as Valorant and Counter Strike. According to him, he wants to “have another professional shooter in [the] arsenal, in the event that Siege doesn’t last”.

Beaulo is an extraordinary player . He was one of the main reasons for the popularity of the North American Rainbow Six Siege. Loved by many fans and fellow professionals alike, it is a sad day to see one of the best retire. We wish him the best for his future endeavors.
