These recent few days, there were several tier 1 Dota 2 tournaments. As DreamLeague Season 20 action is heating up, the Riyadh Masters MENA Closed Qualifiers have its climax. Although four teams headed into the qualifiers, in the end, only Quest Esports qualified for the Riyadh Masters 2022.

Quest Esports displayed a dominant performance during their entire run in the qualifiers, as they were one of the direct invites. In the grand finals, they took a swift and clean victory against Team Secret ME, taking their ticket to the Riyadh Masters 2023. Here’s a summary of the action that went down.

Game 1

Quest played greedy but assured Medusa draft backed by an offlane Anti Mage and a midlane Snapfire in game 1. Team Secret ME drafted a safelane Morphling and an offlane WindRanger to counter the Medusa draft. They also picked a midlane Ember Spirit to ensure they could snowball if they had a laning stage advantage.

However, Quest played methodically, giving no chance for Team Secret to build up their momentum. Moreover, the supports of Quest Esports enable their cores by forcing the other heroes out of their lane and responding to ganks on time. Furthermore, after the end of the laning stage, the supports play around their midlane and offlane to create space for their safelane Medusa. As the Medusa came online, Team Secret knew the game was over, and at 30 minutes, they tapped out of game 1.

Game 2

In game 2, Quest went with a Morphling safelane carry backed by a Viper offlane and a midlane sniper. They also have a global presence across the map with their soft support Spirit Breaker. On the other hand, Secret ME opted for an Anti Mage safelane backed by a Pangolier midlane and an offlane Mars.

During the laning stage, Quest played marvellously. Despite their offlane Viper not having a terrific start, Quest Esports was able to assure that their safelane Morphling’s lane went perfectly. Quest then tries to enable their Viper lane bringing in the numbers. Quest snowballed their laning advantage into the later stages of the game. Although Secrets tries to match the tempo, Quest has more success in taking objectives and overall team fights. At 37 minutes, Quest Esports took game 2.

Game 3

Both teams went for a greedy lineup in game 3, but Quest had a space creator, Puck, as their midlane. On the other hand, Secret lacks a space-creating hero as they have a tri-core in the forms of Dark Seer offlane, Templer Assassin midlane and a Morphling safelane. Quest heavily punishes this mistake from Team Secret. Playing aggressively and not letting Team Secret an opening at 34 minutes, Quest Esports took game 3.

Quest Esports now have a seat at Riyadh Masters 2023 featuring a $ 15 million USD prize pool, where they will play against teams like Gaimin Gladiators, Shopify Rebellions, and Tundra Esports.
