In the first day of the season to feature six games of "League of Legends," Liiv SANDBOX won 2-1 against Hanwha Life Esports and kt Rolster beat Nongshim RedForce 2-1 of Day 5 of Week 1 of the 2023 League Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split on Jan. 22 at LOL Park in Seoul, South Korea.

Game 1: LSB wins

Liiv SANDBOX beat Hanwha Life Esports 11-7 in 39:23 in Game 1. LSB botlaner Lee "Envyy" Myeong-joon led the way on his 4/1/2 Ezreal, scoring a late game quadra kill while supported by Kim "Kael" Jin-hong's 0/1/7 Karma and toplaner Noh "Burdol" Tae-yoon's 1/0/6 K'Sante. Game 2: HLE wins

Hanwha Life Esports tied up the series with a 38:02 win in which they finished 14-8. While the game was relatively close for most of its runtime, HLE midlaner Kim "ZEKA" Geon-woo's 7/2/6 Sylas was too much for LSB to handle. Botlaner Park "Viper" Do-hyeon also went 4/0/5 on Zeri. Liiv SANDBOX won their first series of the year with a 37:50 12-4 victory in Game 3. LSB midlaner Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyeon did his best HLE ZEKA impression and achieved a 5/1/4 scoreline on Sylas, while Envyy outdid his Game 1 performance with a 4/0/5 score on Varus. Game 1: NS wins

Nongshim RedForce started off Day 5 with a 13-6 victory against kt Rolster in 32:13. Despite KT toplaner Kim "Kiin" Gi-in's novel Urgot pick, Nongshim were firmly ahead on the back of botlaner Ha "vital" In-seong's 8/1/3 Zeri performance, which was facilitated by jungler Lee "Sylvie" Seung-bok's 1/2/8 Wukong. Game 2: KT wins

KT tied up the series with 15-8 win in 33:08. KT botlaner Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram had a stellar 8/1/3 game on Zeri and secured a quadra kill at the end of the game. Reminding LCK fans why he was once the most celebrated young talent in Korea, KT midlaner Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong went 5/1/3 on Yone. In the second big upset of the day, kt Rolster won their series against Nongshim RedForce with a 12-2 win in 30:42. KT Bdd stepped up his game with a 7/0/2 game on Ryze, while Aiming and support Son "Lehends" Si-woo combined for a 4/1/10 KDA.
