SANDBOX was one of the LCK's best teams this summer, but they failed to win a series in the 2022 LCK Regional Finals and didn't make it to the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.

Who's new?

Two new players have joined the SANDBOX organization: 18-year-old toplaner Noh "Burdol" Tae-yoon and 19-year-old jungler Kim "Willer" Jeong-hyeon.

Burdol joins from the LCK's DWG KIA, who didn't play Burdol once at Worlds 2022. Burdol was never able to break into the starting lineup of previous LCK teams T1, Gen.G and DWG KIA, and this will be his first starting job. He replaces 24-year-old toplaner Kim "Dove" Jae-yeon, who doesn't currently have a team.

Willer joins from Hanwha Life Esports, where he was a substitute jungler for the last year after starting for the team at Worlds 2021. He replaces 22-year-old jungler Kim "Croco" Dong-beom, who joined the roster of 2022 world champion DRX.

SANDBOX also signed a new assistant coach, 26-year-old Kim "Lyn" Da-bin formerly of FunPlus Phoenix from the League of Legends Pro League (LPL).

Who stayed?

Two players retain their roster spot, 19-year-old midlaner Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyeon and 18-year-old support Kim "Kael" Jin-hong, while 22-year-old botlaner Lee "Envyy" Myeong-joon was promoted from substitute to starter.

Clozer spent the last year with SANDBOX after playing the first two-and-a-half years of his career as T1's No. 1 mid lane prospect.

Envyy replaces 22-year-old botlaner Lee "Prince" Chae-hwan as starter, and is now the oldest player on the team.

Kael retains the roster spot he earned last November after playing for Gen.G's minor league affiliate for over a year.

Head coach Ryu "Ryu" Sang-wook is also staying with the team. The 28-year-old former midlaner played with teams from three different regions, including H2k-Gaming of the EU LCS (now known as the Europe, Middle East and Africa championship, or EMEA), 100 Thieves of the League Championship Series (LCS), and KT Rolster Bullets of the LCK.
