According to a report from Sheep Esports, prodigious Russian talent Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin is all set to join Team Falcons following the Austin Major 2025, replacing Magisk on the roster.

Who is Kyousuke?

The 17 year old Counter-Strike phenomenon has been part of Team Spirit Academy since June 2024. Despite his limited experience, many, including donk, Zywoo and magixx, believe him to be a generational talent who can take over Tier-1 Counter-Strike.

In an interview with HLTV, magixx went as far to say:

"donk can match him (Zywoo), but kyousuke might dominate him."

Kyousuke began playing Counter-Strike in 2019, starting out in community Jailbreak servers before transitioning to matchmaking and FACEIT, where he reached a peak rating of 5700.

His impressive performances caught the attention of Team Spirit, first leading to an association with the organization and later a spot on their academy roster. During his time with Team Spirit Academy, kyousuke helped the team secure multiple B-Tier titles while consistently putting up “carry” numbers.

Unlike the flashy mechanics boasted by so many of the game’s legends, kyousuke’s mechanical prowess is based on a solid foundation. Most of his kills come from immaculate crosshair placement and efficient movement.

Since joining the academy team, his game has matured significantly. Kyousuke's understanding of utility at the highest level, along with his roles, have considerably improved over time. The stability of his mechanics and mature understanding of the game establish him as one of the brightest prospects to ever touch Counter-Strike. The only concern following his Tier-1 debut will naturally be the 'nerves' factor, though with enough experience there's little doubt he will learn to handle these better.

Team Falcons Aiming for the Stars

Once the roster move is confirmed, Team Falcons will become the one of the deadliest coalition of players alongside Team Vitality. Especially with kyxsan and TeSeS performing as they are, Team Falcons might as well be looking to topple Team Vitality from the top and establish an era of their own.

The biggest challenge for Falcons following the move, will be roles. Bringing in kyousuke, currently an entry, to replace Magisk, an anchor, might introduce a role clash within the team. If the team fails to properly address the role issues, the roster may well spiral out of control and ultimately implode. Unfortunately, this implosion would come at the cost of a bright prospect.

If everything clicks following the roster move, however, we might enter into one one of the most competitive eras of Counter-Strike esports.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
