Gen.G won 3-1 against kt Rolster on April 8, the first match day of Round 4 of the 2023 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Playoffs at LOL Park in Seoul, South Korea.

KT was eliminated, and GEN advanced to face T1 in the 2023 LCK Spring Final on April 9; GEN also secured a spot at the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational with the win.

Gen.G vs. kt Rolster

Game 1: KT wins

With a 14-6 win in 33:03, kt Rolster won Game 1 against Gen.G. KT top laner Kim "Kiin" Gi-in went 1/2/9 on Sion and won Player of the Game honors; jungler Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan led in kills on his 5/1/7 Vi; mid laner Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong found a 3/1/9 Ahri performance; and bot laner Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram and support Son "Lehends" Si-woo were 4/1/8 on Xayah and 1/1/8 on Rakan. In the win, KT took 10 towers, one inhibitor, Baron Nashor, three drakes and one Rift Herald; GEN only managed one tower, two drakes and a Herald. GEN jungler Han "Peanut" Wang-ho finished 3/1/2 on Viego in the loss. LCK Player of the Game: KT Kiin, 400 points

Game 2: GEN wins

Gen.G won Game 2 against kt Rolster in 33:09 by a 17-4 score. GEN Peanut went 10/0/3 on Wukong and led in kills; mid laner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon notched a 4/0/5 performance on Ahri; and support Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong unbenched Tahm Kench and went 1/1/11. GEN secured nine towers, two inhibs, Baron, Dragon Soul and a Herald; while KT took just one drake, two towers and a Herald. LCK Player of the Game: GEN Peanut, 300 points

Game 3: GEN wins

Gen.G took a 2-1 lead against kt Rolster with a 12-7 win that lasted 35:52. GEN bot laner Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan went 6/1/4 on Aphelios and Chovy had a 3/0/3 score. GEN were able to find eight towers, an inhibitor, two Barons, two drakes and a Herald, but KT only found three towers, three drakes and a Herald. LCK Player of the Game: GEN Delight, 200 points

Game 4: GEN wins

Gen.G won their series against kt Rolster with a 14-6 win in 28:37 in Game 4. GEN Chovy won his first POTG of 2023 Spring Playoffs and went 4/0/7 on Lissandra; top laner Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon was 2/1/7 on Gragas; Peanut's Wukong found a 3/2/6 score; and Peyz had a 5/1/6 performance on Xayah. GEN won with nine towers, two inhibitors, Baron and Dragon Soul; KT lost with four towers and two Heralds. LCK Player of the Game: GEN Chovy, 100 points
