Four AOMA members hospitalized after tragic car crash, one player in a coma

A simple media trip turned tragic as four members of Elite Series: League of Legends (ESLOL), playing for A One Mans Army (AOMA), got into an accident near Wechelderzande (Belgium). According to Belgian media, members were rescued by emergency services at 11:30 AM on Saturday.

Sources state, that the players were on their way to Belgium for a media day. The accident occurred while the team was traveling from team boot camp in Amsterdam. Accident involved 3 AOMA players and 1 staff member. Their identities are not specified.

While the accident details are unclear, the report indicates that the car deviated from its course and a bus, riding nearby could not avoid it, with the bus colliding face-first into the side of the car. The bus driver and its passengers were unharmed.

Four players are hospitalized, one is in a coma

Two members involved in the accident sustained smaller injuries and are expected to make recovery.  One player was hospitalized with severe injuries, having broken bones in his spine and a broken eye socket. One of the members remains in a coma with serious injuries.

AOMA CEO Gil "Baelakor" Lieveld assured that the organization is supporting the players. A report by the organization states that the CEO after an event rushed to the players and will stay with them throughout their healing process.

It is still unknown if AOMA will participate in the ESLOL Summer season. Based on the Sheep Esports report, AOMA is in talks with Riot Games to allow them to sign new players for the summer season. It is stated, that rescheduling is not an option here as the player's recovery would take longer than the possible rescheduling window.

As of right now, no additional information on players' condition is provided. The organization is asking for everyone to respect the player's privacy, and because of that the players are not identified.
