Faker breaks a record, Deft breaks LSB: LCK Week 1, Day 3 recap

On another day defined by the two greatest players in "League of Legends" history, T1 defeated kt Rolster by a 2-1 score and Dplus KIA won 2-0 against Liiv SANDBOX on the third day of the League Champions Korea (LCK) 2023 Spring Split on Jan. 20 at LOL Park in Seoul, South Korea.

In Game 2 against kt Rolster, legendary T1 midlaner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok achieved his 4,138th LCK assist, beating retired support Kang "GorillA" Beom-hyun's record for most assists in LCK history.

Game 1: KT wins

kt Rolster upset T1 13-3 in 26 minutes to kick off the day. KT caught T1 off guard early, but the game was close until a fight at 20 minutes gave KT four clean kills and Baron. KT botlaner Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram went 7/0/5 on Zeri, supported by Son "Lehends" Si-woo's 0/0/12 Lulu. LCK Player of the Game: KT Aiming (1st)

Game 2: T1 wins

Striking back, T1 beat kt Rolster 15-4 in Game 2 in 31:24. An early 2v2 tower dive by T1's botlaner Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong and support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok gave Guma an early lead that he converted into a 3/1/7 scoreline on Sivir, while late game fights were controlled perfectly by toplaner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je's 3/0/7 K'Sante and Faker's 5/1/7 Orianna. Game 3: T1 wins

In the fastest game of the split so far, T1 beat kt Rolster in 24:11 by a 16-1 score. T1 ended with a 13.5k gold lead, and every member of the team had a standout performance, most notably Gumayusi's 5/0/9 Varus, Keria's 0/0/10 Ashe, and Faker's enormous 8/1/5 performance on Kassadin. Liiv SANDBOX vs. Dplus KIA

Game 1: DK wins

Dplus KIA took a page from T1's book and demolished their opponent 18-3 in 27:19, leaving Liiv SANDBOX without a single Rift Herald, Baron Nashor, dragon or tower. Legendary DK botlaner Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu notched a 11/0/4 scoreline on Lucian, support Kim "Kellin" Hyeong-gyu went 1/0/17 on Nami, and jungler Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu controlled the game on his 4/1/10 Maokai. Game 2: DK wins

Another dominant win, Game 2 saw Dplus KIA beat Liiv SANDBOX in 27:33 by an 11-1 score. The game was again run by Canyon's Maokai (0/0/9), Deft's Lucian (7/0/1) and Kellin's Nami (0/0/11). LSB jungler Kim "Willer" Jeong-hyeon did a paltry 0.8k damage, one-fifth of Kellin's 4.2k damage as a support. LCK Player of the Game: DK Canyon (2nd)
