Kwangdong Freecs won Game 1 against Nongshim RedForce 10-5 in 30:03. KDF toplaner Lee "DuDu" Dong-ju held strong with a 4/0/3 Fiora performance against his rival, NS toplaner Park "DnDn" Geun-woo. KDF midlaner Lee "BuLLDoG" Tae-young's Azir found a 2/1/11 score, and in supportive roles, Ko "YoungJae" Yeong-jae went 0/0/11 on Sejuani and support Yoon "Jun" Se-jun's Braum went 0/0/11. Gen.G started off their series against kt Rolster off strong with a 13-3 win in a Game 1 that lasted 27:40. GEN jungler Han "Peanut" Wang-ho earned POTG honors for his 2/1/6 Vi, and midlaner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon's Azir found a 3/1/6 score. With an 11-4 victory in 32:37, kt Rolster tied up their series against Gen.G in Game 2. This time, it was KT botlaner Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram's turn to carry, as his 5/0/4 Draven accounted for a third of the game's total kills. In a surprising upset (and one of the longest games of the year), kt Rolster handed Gen.G their second series loss of the year with a 44:21 Game 3 victory that they led 13-7 in kills.
