CDL 2023 Major I Preview: Teams, Rules, and Tickets

The first major of the CDL 2023 will be hosted in Raleigh, North Carolina, starting December 16th - 18th on LAN. The CDL-hosted major will feature a Pro-Am tournament for which the challenger's registration has already begun. The event will also feature Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E.) Bowl III.

CDL 2023 Major I Raleigh, NC Teams & Tickets:

The tradition of the first major being hosted by CDL continues in CDL 2023. With the CDL 2023 Major, I will be hosted by the League in Raleigh, North Carolina.

For the first time, the Major I will be a Pro-Am tournament where Challenger teams will take on the Professional League teams.

The Professional teams will also have to play the online qualifiers starting December 2nd, where they will be awarded points and will be placed in the bracket on LAN. The tickets for the event are already on sale and start at $25.

CDL 2023 Major I Format:

The Pro-Am format will feature a LAN group play. Starting with the Pro-Qualifiers, Each CDL team will play four matches against other teams during the weekends before Major I. Qualifier standings will seed the teams in the Major I Group Stage. Each qualifiers match win will earn the team 10 CDL points.

The Pro-Am Group stage will also feature four challengers. 

Challengers Players will compete in two online Challenger Cups in November. The top 32 teams from each region will compete in an Online Regional Qualifier on December 3rd-4th to qualify for Major I. The top 8 challenger teams will compete in a one-day LAN qualifier on December 14th. Only the top four teams, each in one group of the Pro-Am tournament, will play against the Pros.

The Group stage will feature 12 CDL teams taking on four challengers in Group Play. Each group will seed two teams in the Major I Playoff Bracket.

The playoff will be double-elimination, and we will crown the CDL 2023 Major I Champion.

Call of Duty Games and Modes:

The modes of the CDL 2023 match will be Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control.

Hardpoint:

  • The first team to 250 points or the team with the most points at the end of the clock wins the match.
  • The maps played will be Fortress, Embassy, Mercado, and Hydroelectric.

Search and Destroy:

  • One team will try to detonate while the other will try to defuse the at the specified location.
  • The team will win by completing the objectives or eliminating all the enemies.
  • The maps will be  El Asilo, Embassy, Farm 18, and Mercado.

Control:

  • Teams will try to acquire the marked area and control the site for a limited time to win the map.
  • The team with two zones on the map or eliminating all the enemy respawn will win the game.
  • The maps will be Embassy and Mercado.

Call of Duty Endowment Bowl III:

The C.O.D.E. Bowl III will feature U.S. and U.K. military teams competing for the championship. Creators and some of the biggest names in the scene will compete on Warzone 2.0 to improve Veteran lives.

Call of Duty: Mobile 2022 World Championship finals:

The event will feature C.O.D. Mobile 2022 World Championship finals. The best teams worldwide will battle each other on LAN in Raleigh to bring home the C.O.D. Mobile 2022 trophy and a cash prize. You can watch the event on the C.O.D. Mobile Youtube Channel.

The C.O.D action filled event will span for four days over the second weekend of December. The Challengers and Professional Qualifier matches have already started; you can check the schedule here. The live event with pro matches can be watched on Twitch.
