The M13 is an assault rifle that first appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and later in Call of Duty: Mobile, Modern Warfare II, and Modern Warfare III. Built on a short‑stroke piston system, it fires fast and kicks lightly, making it easy to keep on target. Its low per‑bullet damage keeps it from topping damage charts, but steady aim and a high fire rate let it compete at most ranges.

Key Specs

  • M13 in Modern Warfare (2019): Fires about 891 rounds per minute, uses a 30‑round magazine, deals 24–19 torso damage, and unlocks at player level 39.

  • M13 in Call of Duty: Mobile: Features a very high fire rate, a 30‑round magazine, 24 torso damage, and unlocks after you score 30 headshots with any assault rifle.

  • M13B in Modern Warfare II / III: Fires about 845 rounds per minute, carries 30 rounds by default, deals 24–19 torso damage, and unlocks by extracting the rifle in DMZ or Zombies, or by earning 50 ADS kills with an assault rifle in multiplayer.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

High fire rate keeps pressure on opponents. Low vertical recoil allows easy spray control. Good handling: fast aim‑down‑sight (ADS) time and solid movement speed.

Weaknesses

Low damage means longer time‑to‑kill (TTK) if you miss headshots. Ammo hunger: the 30‑round mag empties quickly. Falls behind at long range without damage‑range attachments.

Modern Warfare / Warzone

Use these five parts to steady the rifle and push its effective range:

Barrel — Tempus Marksman extends damage range, speeds up bullets, and cuts recoil. Muzzle — Monolithic Suppressor adds more range while keeping you off enemy radar. Underbarrel — Commando Foregrip levels out horizontal recoil with no hit to ADS speed. Magazine — 60 Round Mags gives enough ammo to finish multi‑enemy fights before reloading. Optic — VLK 3.0× (or any clear sight) offers a sharp view and a small recoil benefit.

This setup keeps the rifle accurate past 40 m while hiding muzzle flash and extending damage range.

Aggressive SMG‑Style Build (Modern Warfare)

For close‑quarters maps, fit the M13 with the Tempus Mini barrel, remove the stock, add Stippled Grip Tape, mount a Tac Laser, and switch to the 50‑round magazine. This setup sacrifices range but rewards you with lightning‑fast sprint‑to‑fire and ADS speeds that feel more like an SMG than an assault rifle.

Core Loadout for Call of Duty Mobile

In Mobile’s ten‑slot Gunsmith, a streamlined package does the job. Equip the RTC Heavy Long Barrel for extra range and recoil control, pair it with the OWC Laser – Tactical to quicken ADS, and steady vertical kick with the Strike Foregrip. Swap in the .300 RTC 30‑Round Reload, which extends range, suppresses shots, and boosts headshot lethality, then finish with Granulated Grip Tape to tighten aiming stability. The suppressed .300 RTC rounds lower headshot time‑to‑kill while keeping you off the minimap.

Steady Mid‑Range Build (Modern Warfare II & III)

On the Bruen Ops platform, the M13B benefits from a balanced setup. Use the 14‑inch Bruen Echelon barrel for added range, attach the Harbinger D20 suppressor for sound masking and bullet‑velocity gains, and steady recoil with the FTAC Ripper 56 underbarrel. A 60‑round magazine covers multi‑target fights, while the Cronen Mini Pro optic offers a clean sight picture. The result is a rifle with near‑zero horizontal sway, ideal for Ground War lanes or Zombies hordes.

Blueprint Highlights

Blueprints change the rifle’s look and, at times, its default attachments. They also let players skip early leveling.

Modern Warfare Stand‑Outs

Several blueprints gained a following in the 2019 title. Blue Jay, earned at Season 4 Tier 51, offers clean iron sights and a stealth‑oriented Tempus Cyclone barrel. Radioactive swaps standard bullets for bright green tracers that stand out in any lobby. Season 6 Tier 81 introduced Rottweiler, which ships with a built‑in 50‑round magazine suited to objective modes where sustained fire matters.

Call of Duty Mobile Picks

On mobile, three skins top most wish lists. The Mythic‑tier Morningstar features reactive camo and a unique inspect animation that changes as you score kills. The Legendary Carrot Cutie stamps your personal first‑play date on the receiver—a playful touch few other guns share. For players after a budget option, the Epic‑tier Darkwing delivers an uncluttered sight picture without breaking the bank.

M13B Blueprints

In Modern Warfare II and III, the M13B carries its own highlights. Hazardous first appeared as a bright yellow biohazard‑themed drop from the Chemist in DMZ, making it a badge of extraction bragging rights. The Deadflame skin, sold in the Spectral Flames bundle, coats bullets in fiery tracers. During the Trophy Hunt event, players could also unlock Venom Strike, adding another sleek option to the growing M13B collection.

Trivia and Little Details

  • Kyle “Gaz” Garrick favors the M13 during the Modern Warfare campaign. His rifle mirrors the “Short Stuff” blueprint.

  • The M13 is modeled after the SIG MCX but fires in full auto in‑game.

  • On the M13B receiver you can read: “RESTRICTED MILITARY / GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT / EXPORT USE ONLY.”

  • Mobile’s Morningstar blueprint was once called “Forerunner,” likely a wink to Halo lore.

  • Unlocking the M13B early in MW II required exfiltrating DMZ with the rifle or taking it from another player.

Unlock Paths

M13 — Call of Duty: Mobile (Season 8, 2021)

The M13 arrived in Call of Duty: Mobile during the Season 8 “2nd Anniversary” update as a new functional assault rifle. It stands out for its extremely high rate of fire and a 1.5× headshot multiplier that rewards precise aim. Players unlocked the weapon through the seasonal challenge track that went live on 22 September.

M13B — Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III

In Modern Warfare II, the M13B became available once players defeated the Chemist boss—or looted the rifle from any opponent holding it—in DMZ and then extracted with it. Completing this extraction added the gun to the player’s arsenal across both MW II and MW III. The same rule applies in Modern Warfare III Zombies, giving those who skip DMZ another path to obtain it. One notable blueprint, “Naughty,” comes from the Tracer Pack: Klaus Operator bundle and carries forward into MW III.

M13C — Shadow Siege Limited‑Time Event

The M13C debuted through the Shadow Siege Warzone event held from 17 to 21 August 2023. Players earned it by assisting in five Commander kills during the event, after which the rifle was instantly added to their loadouts in MW II and Warzone and later transferred to MW III. Pre‑ordering MW III also granted an exclusive M13C Weapon Blueprint for early cosmetic flair. Official notes suggest pairing the rifle with stealth‑focused perks to maximize its effectiveness.

Final Thoughts

The M13 family trades raw power for consistency. Land headshots and keep shots on target, and the rifle rewards you with steady damage and quick follow‑ups. Whether you lean into silent flanking builds or balanced mid‑range setups, understanding its attachment options and blueprint perks turns a modest rifle into a reliable workhorse in Call of Duty.
