Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was a let down to many as the Campaign has received multiple negative feedbacks. It was the lowest-rated CoD campaign yet. With Call of Duty 2024, Activision will be looking to bounce back from a bad year with Treyarch manning the ship.

Call of Duty 2024 - What do we know?

According to Windows Central, Treyach will return as the developer for the upcoming addition to the Call of Duty franchise. The upcoming instalment is likely a continuation of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The new game will be set in the early 90’s following West’s expedition in the Gulf countries. The central storyline will follow CIA exploits in the Gulf war, a conflict between Iraq and a 42-country coalition led by the United states.

The upcoming title will attempt to explore the storylines and expeditions of different participants of the Gulf War. It will also feature a more traditional weaponry and gadgetry as compared to the near-future tech featured in CoD MW and other recent titles.

The game is currently unnamed but following the previous nomenclature pattern, will likely be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War.

What can we expect?

The game will feature multiple returning Black Ops maps including Grind and WMD. The Game is likely to also include a reworked round-based Zombie mode. The Treyarch speciality is likely to see its return to the Call of Duty franchise.

Activision also plans to give a big pre-order Early access bonus. As they did with CoD MWIII, Activision are planning to give weeks of early-access as a reward for pre-ordering the next game in the CoD franchise.

Treyach’s upcoming game will have a lot riding on its back, as it has been in development for a while. The game will have the longest development time out of all the CoD games. It was supposed to be released as the 2022 Call of Duty, but Treyarch required time to finish the game. The MWIII was reportedly developed in months to buy time for the next Call of Duty: Black Ops game.

Activision Blizzard (now part of Xbox) will be looking to launch the game late fall/ early Winter 2024. The expectations will be definitely high for the game, especially since the high engagement for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has led to disappointments.

Stay tuned on Strafe for all the Call of Duty 2024 leaks.
