For the second straight day in Korean "League of Legends," both League Champions Korea (LCK) matches saw its victors win in a sweep, as Hanwha Life Esports went 2-0 vs. Kwangdong Freecs and BRION (formerly Fredit BRION) won 2-0 against Nongshim RedForce on the second day of Week 1 of the 2023 LCK Spring Season on January 19 at LOL Park in Seoul, South Korea.

Kwangdong Freecs vs. Hanwha Life Esports

Game 1: HLE wins

Hanwha Life Esports won the first game of the day in 40:17, despite losing 17-11 in kills. Kwangdong Freecs toplaner Lee "DuDu" Dong-ju had a monstrous 6/1/1 Aatrox performance, but HLE midlaner Kim "ZEKA" Geon-woo's 6/1/4 Sylas performance was even bigger. While KDF picked a bad fight at Elder Dragon, HLE made a dash for the Freecs' base and won the game. New HLE support support Kim "Life" Jeong-min went 2/2/4 on the LCK's first ever Jhin support pick. Game 2: HLE wins

In a shorter game than before, Hanwha Life Esports took down the Kwangdong Freecs in 33:29 with a 15-6 killscore. It was the HLE ZEKA show once more, as his now-infamous Akali racked up a 6/1/4 scoreline and notched a 1v4 triple kill at the end of the game. HLE botlaner Park "Viper" Do-hyeon went 3/1/5 on Lucian and put out an absurd 44.2k damage in the game (and 1,319 damage per minute). KDF were unable to do much, only securing two towers and a drake in addition to their six kills. LCK Player of the Game: HLE Viper (1st)

Nongshim RedForce vs. BRION

Game 1: BRO wins

Continuing a trend, BRION won Game 1 against Nongshim RedForce in 38:59 even though they trailed 15-11 in kills. BRO jungler Eom "UmTi" Seong-hyeon's AP First Strike Maokai was a menace across the map, dealing 34.3k damage in the game with a 0/3/9 scoreline. NS led the game by almost 5k gold until a botched Elder Dragon fight at 32 minutes that allowed BRO toplaner Park "Morgan" Ru-han to frontdoor the NS nexus. Midlaner An "FIESTA" Hyeon-seo's 7/2/3 Akali stood out for RedForce. LCK Player of the Game: BRO Morgan (1st)

Game 2: BRO wins

BRION won Game 2 in 30:13 by an 11-5 score. An early dragon steal from BRO UmTi put Nongshim RedForce behind, and a 29-minute flank by BRO Morgan led to midlaner Kim "Karis" Hong-jo' 0/1/5 Ryze securing a quadra kill and BRO winning the game. BRO botlaner Park "Hena" Jeung-hwan's Lucian and COVID-isolated support Lee "Effort" Sang-ho's Nami combined for a 4/1/9 KDA. LCK Player of the Game: BRO Hena (1st)
