In what has got to be one of the biggest upsets in recent Counter-Strike 2 history, the underdog team 3DMAX triumphed over the renowned G2 Esports in a nail-biting matchup that left fans on the edge of their seats. This surprising victory secured their place in the upcoming major, marking a significant milestone for the team.

The match took place during the 3-0 qualifying match for the major, and from the very beginning, the atmosphere was electric.

G2 Esports, boasting a roster of some of the most accomplished players in the competitive scene, entered the match with high expectations. Their track record and consistent performance made them favorites to win; however, 3DMAX was determined to prove that they could rise to the occasion.

3DMAX Take Down G2 in Incredible Display

3DMAX's strategy was not just meticulous; it was a work of art. They lost the first map but were able to reverse-sweep G2. Key players from 3DMAX, notably Bryan 'Maka' Canda and Lucas 'Lucky' Chastang, showcased incredible individual skill, often outmaneuvering the G2 roster. Their ability to coordinate plays and communicate effectively set the tone for the match, leaving the audience in awe of their performance.

As the first map unfolded, it became clear that 3DMAX had done their homework. They exploited G2's weaknesses, especially on their less favored map, catching their opponents off-guard time and again. The first map ended 13-5 in favor of G2, indicating a strong and dominant best of three, but 3DMAX had other plans.

3DMAX came out swinging in the second map, desperate to gain momentum and turn the match in their favor, which they absolutely did. Winning the first three rounds on their CT side on G2's map pick of Dust II did wonders for them. They lost four rounds on the CT side, making for a problematic comeback for the G2 roster. Moreover, with even the world's best Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov struggling to put up numbers, it didn't look good.

G2 lost to what??

G2 lost the first four rounds of their CT side but won the next two, making it look doable with a scoreline of 12-6 favoring the Frenchmen. However, in an unforgettable display of skill, 3DMAX pulled off an incredible upset by clinching the map with a stunning full-eco Glock round!

The tension was palpable as they went in with nothing but the most basic of weapons, but their teamwork and precision shone through. Each player stepped up, executing flawless maneuvers and catching their opponents off guard. This unexpected victory will surely go down in the books as one of the most thrilling moments of the tournament! And it will haunt the G2 fans and players alike.

3DMAX: An Unstoppable Force Collides with G2

In a series of critical moments, the 3DMAX players demonstrated remarkable composure. Whether it was clutch plays or seemingly ridiculous pushes all over the map breaking the backs of G2, every move was calculated.

The last map of Ancient displayed a ton of back-and-forth from both teams. 3DMAX won the first pistol round of the map on their T half, then G2 responded with three consecutive rounds, springing life back into the roster after the devastating loss on the previous map.

However, 3DMAX quickly countered with five-round wins of their own, winning the first half with a scoreline of 7-5. G2 did not give up, starting off their T half wickedly, posting up six-round wins in the first seven rounds of the half.

Then 3DMAX came in with an unexpected yet masterful five-round streak, concluding the map with a 13-11 victory for 3DMAX, sealing their qualification for the major in a show of sheer determination.

Fans and analysts alike were left in disbelief as 3DMAX clinched this win from under G2's noses. Both teams highlighted their incredible teamwork and resilience throughout the series.

3DMAX Carve Themselves into History

This match will undoubtedly be remembered as a defining moment in 3DMAX's history, altering the perception of the team from underdogs to a formidable force in the major and serving as a testament to 3DMAX's resilience.

As they prepare for the major, the confidence stemming from this victory could serve as a catalyst for even more extraordinary achievements. The journey ahead is challenging, filled with some of the best teams in the world, but if 3DMAX continues to play with the passion and strategy they displayed against G2 Esports, they may just surprise fans once again.

3DMAX's upset against G2 Esports has not only secured them a spot in the major but also solidified their place in the hearts of fans and followers of competitive Counter-Strike. Their story reminds us of the unpredictable nature of Counter-Strike, where anything can happen on the day, making every matchup an opportunity for greatness.
