Polish rifler Krzysztof "Goofy" Górski has decided to step back from competitive play, placing himself on ENCE's inactive roster following their abysmall performance at the ESL Pro League.

After joining ENCE earlier in 2024, he made the decision to take a break after the team's three consecutive defeats in Group C. Their final loss to ATOX, the 93rd ranked team globally, sealed their fate, marking the end of a tough season for the Finnish organization.

A tumultuous journey with ENCE

Goofy’s tenure with ENCE began after the team underwent significant roster changes, including the acquisition of the 9INE core, consisting of Kacper "Kylar" Walukiewicz, Aleksander "hades" Miśkiewicz, and Goofy himself. Despite hopes of building a strong roster, ENCE struggled throughout the year, and his decision to step down marks the end of his partnership with Kylar after more than two years of playing together.

The benching was Goofy’s own decision, signaling his desire to step away from the current struggles plaguing ENCE.

ENCE’s recent struggles and roster woes

Goofy’s exit adds to the growing list of roster challenges for ENCE in 2024. Earlier in the year, the team benched two key Polish players, Paweł "dycha" Dycha and hades, as part of a larger restructuring.

With his departure, only Kylar and gla1ve remain from the initial roster. ENCE will now face the difficult task of finding new talent to rebuild their lineup and regain their footing in the competitive scene.

Goofy’s future: What’s next?

Known for his consistency rather than star performances, Goofy maintained strong ratings throughout his career with 9INE, often performing well in larger tournaments like IEM Rio 2023, where he had a very good overall rating. However, after joining ENCE, his form gradually declined, with his rating dropping well below his 2023 average.

Goofy’s role within ENCE diminished further following their shift to an international roster, which ultimately contributed to his decision to take a break. With ENCE in a transition phase and Goofy stepping back from Tier 1 competition, his future is uncertain.

While Goofy’s immediate plans remain unknown, his contributions to ENCE and his time with Kylar mark the end of an era for both players as they part ways in 2024.
