The Estonian Counter-Strike scene is under the scope following the disqualification of ESTOWNIA and Magneta from the OlyBet Spring 2024 Grand Final, after a violation of the fair play rule.

Players from both teams took advantage of a freebet prediction which consists of a player getting an ace in the final. Since the parties involved received personal benefits, it violates the fair play rules. In fact, those actions go under the match-fixing category.

The actions in question happened during the 18th round when “rnr”, a member of team Magneta, called on team ESTOWNIA to influence the sixth question of the OlyBet prediction game. By then, the series was almost done and dusted at 12-5, raising more suspicions on the matter.

Furthermore, the tournament organizer penalized both teams. And no member of team ESTOWNIA allowed to participate in the MÖÖ-LAN tournament. While only “rnr” and “neaQ” received the punishment on the Magneta side.

Additionally, The the Estonian Anti-Doping and Sports Ethics Foundation is carrying an investigation in cooperation for further discoveries and punishments.

As a consequence, they will replay the grand final. With the format and related information announced on the 27th of May including GENESIS and Mald1vez.

It’s worth mentioning that Alvar "consss" Rämman, who’s part of ESTOWNIA, received a ban from the European Pro League earlier this year. Although the player denied the allegations, his team was disqualified and the organization “The Prodigies” referred the case to ESIC.
