The day four of VCT Masters Shanghai featured the first set of elimination games in the tournament, starting with Leviatán taking on T1.

The third seeds of Americas and Pacific put up an amazing showing, with both teams fighting tooth and nail, trying to win the game.

Leviatán vs T1

The match started on Gen.G’s pick of Breeze, despite their attack-centric composition, they failed to secure a strong start, going 3-9 down in their offense.

Despite the attempted comeback in the second half, Leviatán pushed forward, converting the lead into a 13-9 win.

Sunset was a walk in the park for LEV, with aspas doing aspas things, their fast retakes completely stunned T1, helping them win the first half 10-2. The team closed the map 13-7, winning the series 2-0.

Leviatán lost a close game to Gen.G in the opening round, talking about the team’s discussion after the game, Coach Goked said:

I think we just discussed how we want to play this tournament as a team and what would be a good way to play this tournament. And we just adopted a little bit, a few things that we wanted to, to do a bit better and a few things that we normally do a bit better and maybe we didn't do in the first game. And, yeah, I think this was definitely closer to how we normally play and it went well.

They will play another Bo3 series tomorrow for their tournament lives, when asked about the team they want to face, the Leviatán coach said

No, I think we, we don't care who's the team, we respect them all equally and it will be a good game regardless.

Despite their strong performance, T1 became the first team to be eliminated from VCT Masters Shanghai.

Talking about the biggest struggles for the team, IGL Xccurate said:

I think our struggle right now is that maybe we need to make our map pool much bigger. At the same time, we also need to work a lot on our mini-game stuff and improve our mechanical skills. That's all.

Lastly, Rossy about the experience playing their first international event as a team said:

The experience was good. We did qualify by a slim margin, but that's not to downplay it. We did qualify and had good momentum coming into it. We gained a lot of experience.

Honestly, it should have been different for the first series. I should have done much better in helping my teammates, and that was the only reason we lost.

Today, Leviatán played really, really well. That was a hard game, and we didn't give ourselves a really good chance. So, we did learn a lot, and we will improve in the future.

Leviatán will take on either FPX or Team Heretics tomorrow. You can follow the action on Twitch and YouTube. You can also follow the tournament on Strafe.
