DRX has officially signed No "freeing" Ha-jun and Song "HYUNMIN" Hyun-min to their VALORANT roster for the 2025 season. The announcement, made via their X account, follows significant changes in DRX's lineup, with the departure of star duelist Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul and the benching of Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin and Jung "Foxy9" Jae-sung. These roster moves signal a new direction for the powerhouse Korean team as they prepare for the 2025 VCT season.

Freeing’s Journey to DRX

Freeing’s journey has been filled with growth and success, making him an exciting addition to the DRX roster. Formerly a part of Dplus, a team that has harbored star talents like Kim "t3xture" Na-ra and Kim "Lakia" Jong-min. Both of whom competed for Gen.G and recently won the first international title for the Pacific region. After his time with Dplus, Freeing moved to China, playing for Rare Atom. The team secured a second-place finish in VCT Ascension China despite not qualifying for VCT CN 2025.

Freeing’s primary role as a Sentinel will create interesting dynamics within DRX. With Cho "Flashback" Min-hyuk already covering the position, competition for the role is expected. It remains to be seen whether DRX will opt for a role switch among its players or implement a unique strategy for the 2025 season. Coaches Seon-ho "termi" Pyeon, Kwon "Argency" Soon-woo, and in-game leader Kim "MaKo" Myeong-kwan face the task of integrating Freeing into the team’s system effectively.

HYUNMIN Replaces BuZz

HYUNMIN joins DRX as a replacement for BuZz, one of the team’s most iconic players. Coming from VALORANT Challengers Japan, where he represented Crest Gaming Zst, HYUNMIN demonstrated his duelist prowess despite his team’s 5th-6th place finish in the 2024 season. However, his last official match was in May 2024, raising concerns about his readiness to step into BuZz’s shoes.

Replacing a player like BuZz, who was instrumental in DRX's success, will undoubtedly put HYUNMIN under scrutiny. His ability to perform at the highest level after a lengthy break from competition will be a key storyline going into the new season.

DRX’s roster reshuffle is still incomplete, with one more spot to fill, likely for an Initiator role. The upcoming months will give the team time to integrate Freeing and HYUNMIN before the VCT Pacific Kickoff in 2025. Whether DRX’s new signings can help maintain their dominance remains to be seen, but the roster changes have certainly sparked excitement for what’s to come.
