With the Play-in stage completed, 16 teams are set to clash in the BLAST R6 Montreal Major Swiss Stage. Over three intense days (from the 10th to the 13th), the teams will fight through Bo1 matchups to secure playoff spots, with elimination rounds set as Bo3. Here are the standout teams most likely to make it through, divided into tiers based on their current form and potential.

The 3-0 Squad

Team BDS

Team BDS is the heavy favorite and in stellar form coming into Montreal. Fresh from a dominant run at the Esports World Cup and a first-place finish in the Europe League Stage 2, BDS has had an almost flawless season. Although they were upset by Beastcoast at the Manchester Major, they are ready for redemption. And a second Major title is well within reach for the French core of Shaiiko, BriD, and LikEfac. BDS looks well-prepared to deliver another victory for their fans.

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan from Brazil is one of the top teams to watch, returning to the Major stage with renewed vigor. While their last Major win dates back to 2021 in Sweden, FaZe has demonstrated consistent strength domestically, winning the Brazil League with only two losses. They might not have a wealth of recent international wins, but their current form and Brazilian grit make them a strong candidate to reach the playoffs.

The Mid Tier

Team Liquid

As another Brazilian powerhouse, Team Liquid brings steady performances to the Swiss Stage. Though their international record lacks a championship, they secured a top-four finish at the Esports World Cup and were runners-up in the Brazil League. Liquid’s consistency is a big advantage in the Bo1-heavy Swiss Stage, where erratic play can spell early elimination. They’re certainly a team that has the capability to make a deep run.

Soniqs

The North American champions, Soniqs, have seen remarkable improvement since signing Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski, a seasoned veteran in the Siege world. Canadian’s input has definitely helped Soniqs go from a Top 4 team to a championship contender. With momentum on their side, Soniqs will be looking to keep up the high level of play and secure their spot in the playoffs.

DarkZero Esports

As North America’s second-seeded team, DarkZero experienced a shift after parting ways with Canadian. Despite the transition, their lineup—featuring former Major winners Nick "njr" Rapier, Roberto "Panbazou" Feliciano, and former SI Champion and fan favorite Jason "Beaulo" Doty—has performed solidly. They’ve had an inconsistent international showing, but DarkZero’s core of experienced players could give them the edge they need to push through the Swiss Stage.

The Bottom of the Barrel

Team Secret

From the EU League, Team Secret enters the Major after securing second place in Europe. They’ve strengthened with the addition of Jake "Virtue" Grannan from G2, who has brought a noticeable improvement to the team’s performances. Despite his contributions, limited international experience might hold them back. However, the unpredictable nature of the Swiss Stage could give them the opportunity to slip through to the playoffs if they can leverage their momentum.

W7m Esports

Once a top team, w7m Esports has been steadily regaining their form. A second-place finish at the Esports World Cup and a solid year of performances have made them a notable contender. However, they recently placed third in the Brazil League, a dip that might signal vulnerability. Nevertheless, their pedigree and tactical playstyle keep them in the running for a playoff spot.

G2 Esports

G2, a once-dominant force in Rainbow Six Siege, has had a challenging year. They barely made it into the Major, scraping their way through the European LCQ and then qualifying through the Play-ins. While G2’s current form is shaky, their wealth of international experience and proven resilience make them a wildcard. If any team can deliver under pressure, it’s G2, who often rise to the occasion when it matters most.

As the Swiss Stage kicks off, these teams hold the highest potential for advancing to the playoffs in Montreal. Whether it’s through unbreakable form, star-studded rosters, or sheer resilience, each team on this list has its own reason for optimism. The competition is fierce, and fans can expect thrilling performances from start to finish as these contenders push for their shot at the Major title.
