Rogue's support Execute receives LEC suspension over SoloQ message
If Rogue's run at the LEC Spring 2025 has been going badly, then it's about to get a whole lot worse for the final week of the Regular Season. The team's support player, Lee "Execute" Jeong-hoon, has been suspended by Riot Games for Rogue's final match of season, potentially dooming the squad to a last place finish.
Execute's Suspension
According to Execute himself, the reason for the one-match suspension is that the South Korean player said "take [your life]" to another player during a game of SoloQ. Execute has accepted the punishment, while also claiming that the whole ordeal simply came down to a case of language barrier issues and miscommunication.
"In Korean, a similar phrase is used to mean "focus on your own life," implying that someone should mind their own business."
Whether accidental or not, the truth is that Execute's message looks to be the final nail in Rogue's coffin.
A Stand-In to End the Season
As if things didn't look bad enough, Rogue's final match of the Regular Season comes against a formidable Movistar KOI squad. Though the Spanish team is dealing with their fair share of problems at the moment, MKOI has been on the rise at the LEC Spring, winning their last three matches in a row to cement themselves as serious contenders.
The bout is the only remaining match of either team at the Regular Season, which means Rogue are now forced to put an end to the season without their full roster at their disposal. In Execute's stead, Rogue's coach and former G2 jungler Kim "Trick" Gang-yun will take the stage with the rest of the team to play this final match against MKOI on Monday, May 12th.
Rogue currently sits in last place at the Regular Season with a 2-6 record. After ending up in last place at the last two consecutive splits in the LEC (Summer 2024 and Winter 2025), Rogue will be desperate to avoid making that three in a row. Execute's suspension, however, is doing the team no favors.
