Former World Champions Park "Viper" Do-hyeon has re-signed with the Hanwha Life Esports roster ahead of the new season.

With the signing, Hanwha Life Esports has secured 4/5 of the LCK 2024 Summer Championship winning roster. Top laner Choi “Doran” Hyeon-jun is the only member whose future is uncertain.

Viper's homecoming

Viper returned to LCK and Hanwha Life Esports in 2022 after spending two years in the LPL under EDward Gaming. He had a successful two years there, winning a Summer title and a World Championship.

The return, however, wasn’t as successful as envisioned. Hanwha Life struggled to keep up with the LCK competition and placed fourth all 2023 season behind Gen.G, T1 and KT Rolster. They lost to Dplus KIA at the LCK Regional Finals, missing out on the Worlds Championship.

Hanwha Life retained Viper and Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo from the 2023 squad and brought in the Gen.G trio of Doran, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho and Yu "Delight" Hwan-jung.

The new additions rejuvenated the Hanwha Life roster. The roster placed third behind Gen.G and T1 at the LCK Spring 2024 but went on to upset Gen.G in the finals to win the LCK 2024 Summer Championship.

Unfortunately, they were unable to go past finalist Bilibili Gaming in the Knockout Stage and placed 5th-8th at the Worlds 2024. Despite starting the year rough, the roster displayed promise and ended the year on top of the LCK. The result definitely warranties them staying together.

With Viper already re-signing, Hanwha Life will be eyeing to secure Doran, retaining the complete 2024 roster and building on the foundation to make deeper international runs in the future.
