VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Americas League kicked off on the 2nd of April. It was one of the 3 regional leagues hosted by Riot.

VCT Americas features some of the best Valorant teams, not only in the American Region, but also in the world. 10 teams are going head-to-head to be crowned the Champion of the Americas. But that’s not the end goal here, as the teams are also competing to fight for points to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo, and VCT Champions.

Week 3 saw a total of 5 matches, where the 10 teams fought for points and bragging rights, on who won the opening matchups.

Game 1: Cloud9 vs 100 Thieves

Cloud9 managed to get the better of their North American rivals, as they won the series 2-0. Lotus was an easy affair for Cloud9, as they managed to take the win at 13-7. 100 Thieves did manage to fight back a little on Ascent, pushing the map into Overtime. However, it was Cloud9 who came out on top, as they won the map 14-12. Even though it was leaf top fragging with 43 kills, Zellsis sat at the top of the table with a 1.19 rating.

The final map between the two, Split, was also pushed into Overtime, again by MIBR. but this time they were able to collect their nerves and take the map 16-14. Sentinels put up quite a fight on Split, even managing to push the map into Overtime. However, Leviatan made quick work of them and won 14-12. Ascent was a more direct affair, with the South Americans winning out at 13-11. Final map Pearl was a dominant one for Leviatan, as they beat the North American giants in an astounding 13-4. It was Mazino leading the table with 61 kills and a 1.20 rating.

Game 4: Evil Geniuses vs KRU

EG and KRU had quite an even matchup. But in the end, it was EG who managed to take the series 2-1. Both teams locked horns on Pearl, but it was EG who came out on top at 13-11. KRU hit them right back on Ascent, as they managed to take the win in a similar 13-11 fashion. But LOUD were simply better, as they won the map 13-9. The same can’t be said for Icebox, as LOUD completely dominated Furia. They took the win at 13-4.
