The Wuliangye Chengdu Performing Arts Centre witnessed a new IEM champion.  In a best of three series, FaZe Clan dominated MOUZ to secure the IEM Chengdu 2024 title.

This is the international squads fourth Counter-Strike title since the game’s transition to CS2.

Setting the stage

Coming off a disappointing conclusion to the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, FaZe Clan were dead set on winning a title. Unfortunately, they had to take a brief detour after the Astralis loss in round 2 of Group Stage.

They made an undefeated run to secure the Grand Finals, taking down C9, FlyQuest, Team Liquid and Astralis. It was the team’s third Grand Finals appearance in three tournaments of 2024.

MOUZ themselves have been a recognizable force in recent Counter-Strike history. Unfortunately, they haven’t been winning as much.

At Chengdu, they took down TYLOO, FURIA Esports and Team Liquid to qualify as the first seed from Group A. They defeated G2 Esports in the Semifinals to secure the Grand Finals.

Both teams have a strong win percentage coming into the series, with them winning 8/10 last games. Unfortunately, MOUZ has yet to find a win against FaZe Clan in CS2.

MOUZ 0-2 FaZe Clan

The brawl between the teams started on MOUZ’s Overpass. FaZe Clan on CT shutdown their opponents attack and limited them to four rounds.

Despite the heavy opposition from their opponent, FaZe secured a 13-10 win going 1-0 up in the series.

Nuke was a walk in the park for FaZe Clan as he secured an early lead on T-side and successfully converted it to a 13-6 map win to secure the series 2-0.

With the map win, they lifted their fourth CS2 title. Broky, the talented FaZe Awper was named the MVP of the event.

FaZe Clan and MOUZ will play EPL S19 next. It’d be MOUZ and other team’s chance to exact revenge on the Chengdu Champions.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
