Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports look stronger than ever, while T1 and Dplus KIA stumble a bit — here's what we learned from the 3rd week of the 2023 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split.

The Recall: What we learned from LCK Week 3

GEN have found wins against three of the other five Top 6 teams in the league, with the team triumphing over DK, HLE and Liiv SANDBOX; losing to T1 in Week 1; and with their matchup against kt Rolster coming next Saturday. The team leads in kills with 209, 101 more than the Kwangdong Freecs' bottom-ranking 108. While GEN has one more game win and one less game loss than T1, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok's squad owns the tiebreaker over GEN.

GEN's botlane possesses the two best KDAs in the league: botlaner Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan's 80/18/77 (8.7) and support Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong's 13/22/158 (7.8). Delight leads all players in assists.

While T1 and DK both lost a series each this week, they're still statistically strong. DK has the best team KD ratio with 1.59, the least team deaths with 105 and the best gold differential at 15 minutes (GD@15) with 1,666; and T1 leads in first tower rate and first three towers rate with a very high 88% in both.

  • Sejuani remains the most picked champion in the LCK, with a 60.7% pick rate and 47 games played.
  • Three champions are tied for the highest pick/ban percentage: Maokai, Kassadin and Caitlyn with 93.3% each. Caitlyn's ban rate is the highest of all champs at 81.3%.
  • Ashe's 70.7% win percentage is the highest among champions with over four games played.
  • Zeri leads in kills with 148.
  • Nami has the best KDA among champs with more than two games played with a 14/41/267 score (6.9) in 27 games. Her kill percentage of 87.3% is highest among champs with more than one game played.

Strafe LCK Player of the Week: GEN Peyz (31/4/28 in five games; 1st)

This week, GEN Peyz had a 14.8 KDA, the best score of any player, but his accomplishments are now among the best in the league. In the 2023 Spring Split, Peyz has the lowest death percentage (12.9%), most kills (80), least deaths with more than seven games played (7) and he is one of just five players with a CS per minute of 10 or more. Honorable mention to Hanwha Life Esports midlaner Kim "ZEKA" Geon-woo, who tied Peyz for the most kills this week with 31.
