Yuumi is a support champion in League of Legends who helps her teammates by healing, shielding, and empowering their abilities. Discover the best tips, builds, and strategies in our simple League of Legends Yuumi guide to support your team effectively.

Yuumi's Abilities Explained

Passive: Feline Friendship

Yuumi’s passive ability lets her heal herself periodically when attacking enemies or using abilities. If Yuumi attaches to an ally within 4 seconds after triggering her passive, her ally receives the same healing.

While attached, Yuumi collects Friendship stacks when her ally kills minions or champions. The ally with the highest stacks becomes her Best Friend, receiving enhanced effects from her abilities.

Q: Prowling Projectile

Yuumi fires a missile that damages and slows enemies. If attached to an ally, she can steer the missile, causing extra damage and applying a stronger slow. When targeting her Best Friend, Yuumi’s projectile always applies the stronger slow and grants bonus magic damage on-hit.

W: You and Me!

This ability allows Yuumi to attach to an ally, becoming untargetable except by turrets or projectiles already on the way. While attached, Yuumi casts abilities from her ally’s location. Yuumi can jump between teammates or detach entirely. Her Best Friend gains bonus healing from attacks, and Yuumi herself gets extra healing and shield strength.

E: Zoomies

Yuumi shields herself, gaining attack speed and movement speed. If attached, the shield and bonuses apply to her ally, and the ally also regains mana based on their missing mana.

R: Final Chapter

Yuumi channels waves that heal allies and damage and slow enemies. Excess healing converts to temporary shields. If Yuumi is attached when casting, she can steer the waves. Her Best Friend receives extra healing.

Yuumi's Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:

  • Provides significant healing and protection.
  • Enhances allies' movement and combat effectiveness.
  • Can safely block important enemy skillshots by detaching briefly.

Weaknesses:

  • Extremely vulnerable when alone or detached.
  • High mana costs, especially early in the game.
  • Limited ability to control vision without teammates nearby.

Best Yuumi Builds

Recommended items for Yuumi include Moonstone Renewer, which enhances healing and provides additional healing over time. Chemtech Putrifier is crucial against healing champions as it reduces their effectiveness. Ardent Censer boosts attack speed and damage for healed allies. Staff of Flowing Water further enhances allies' ability power and movement speed after healing.

How to Play Yuumi: Game Strategy

the-magical-support-cat-league-of-legends-yuumi-guide

Early Game (0-15 min)

During the early game, focus on poking enemies with Q and healing your carry with E. Stay attached to your ADC to minimize risk. Prioritize leveling your Q and E abilities for better poke and sustain. Help secure bottom lane turret, then rotate mid.

Mid Game (15-25 min)

In the mid game, move around the map with your teammates and avoid wandering alone. Ward carefully around objectives like dragons or Rift Herald. Aim to catch isolated enemies with your team to gain objectives.

Late Game (25+ min)

In the late game, continuously ward key objectives such as Baron and Elder Dragon. Stick with your team to avoid being targeted alone. Use your ultimate carefully in team fights to maximize healing and slow enemies effectively.

Tips for Effective Yuumi Gameplay

  • Always attach to the strongest ally in fights, usually your Best Friend.
  • Watch your mana usage, especially when casting E frequently.
  • When enemies engage, quickly use R to heal and slow attackers, protecting your allies.

Countering Yuumi

When playing against Yuumi, hide behind minions to avoid her Q damage. Purchase anti-healing items like Executioner’s Calling. Engage Yuumi when her E or Q abilities are on cooldown to capitalize on her vulnerabilities.

Key Power Spikes

Early Game

Yuumi's level 2 power spike, when she has Q and E, allows for better poke and sustain. At level 6, her ultimate significantly boosts defensive capabilities.

Mid Game

At mid-game, Yuumi’s healing and poke become very strong once Q and E are maxed. Level 11 enhances her ultimate, increasing team survivability further.

Late Game

In late-game scenarios, Yuumi provides significant healing, turning allies into difficult targets. Team fights heavily favor Yuumi’s team due to sustained healing.

Final Thoughts

Yuumi can be a strong support champion with proper positioning and effective use of abilities. Manage your mana and choose the right allies to support for maximum impact. Regularly practice your attachment timing, mana management, and ultimate positioning to become effective with Yuumi in League of Legends.
