The Bali Major is near its climax, with only four teams left. The Western European region teams have shown supremacy at The Bali Major. However, in light of the BetBoom Team's recent events, Execration could become the last team to qualify for the upcoming Ti12 in the final major of the DPC 2022-2023 Season.

The controversies started when BetBoom Team got caught for information abuse during one of their upper bracket matches. The team received an immediate auto loss because of their actions. Moreover, the player, Pure, was banned from participating in the rest of The Bali Major. BetBoom had to use a standin, Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok, in the following match. Unfortunately, the match did not go their way, and BetBoom Team got eliminated from The Bali Major.

More information

In their recent vlog, BetBoom revealed more information about the incident. Supposedly, the team received a third-level draft penalty in their match against Team Liquid for their actions. However, after some lengthy consideration, the decision was upgraded as a default loss. Moreover, BetBoom claimed that even though Tundra supported their pushbacks. However, the tournament organisers threatened Tundra with their default loss if Tundra protested not playing the series against Team Liquid. From team abusing bugs to having last-minute standins, The Bali Major has also been full of controversies.

Team Liquid to the Rescue

However, BetBoom Team got lucky as Team Liquid came to their rescue. As they got eliminated, the team’s Ti seat was in jeopardy against Quest Esports. Fortunately enough, Team Liquid eliminated Quest Esports in the lower bracket semi-finals, giving a breather to BetBoom.

Not out of the woods yet

BetBoom may have enough points to secure a direct invite for The International 2023, with Execration only 20 DPC points short behind them. Fortunately, they could have a chance to overturn BetBoom.

Pure’s unintentional actions got only him banned from The Bali Major, but his actions could cost hefty for his team. Valve has yet to make a statement regarding the incident. If Valve decided to step in, Pure could receive a ban from attending this year's iteration of The International. If such happens, BetBoom Team will have to make a forced roster shuffle, costing them significant DPC points and dropping below Execration.

On the brighter side, there could still be no investigation too. Several people have criticised Valve for its poor handling of DPC standings. Last year, Valve’s errors resulted in the team failing to receive a direct invite to The International 2022.
