Another two-time TI champion has fallen at Riyadh Masters 2024 in the second round of the eliminations. In a surprising turn of events, PSG Quest flipped the script against last year's Riyadh Masters champions, Team Spirit.

Though Team Spirit showed dominance in the first game, Quest handled them beautifully in the second. The deciding match was a one-sided affair in favour of PSG Quest. After pulling off an impressive victory, Quest's midlaner, Tony "No!ob" Assaf joined the panel for an interview. The player discussed his team's mindset going into the series and how they will be preparing for the upcoming one against Team Falcons.

After the series, Quest's support player, Omar "OmaR" Moughrabi, expressed joy in his post-game interview.

"Alhamdulillah, feeling very good, I'm very happy for this win. For some reason, we giving up every first game, I dunno why but thank God; we won."

No!ob reflects on the series

Spirit had a midlane Tiny in the first game. With that hero, they were able to build momentum during the laning stage, and they snowballed their advantage towards a swift 20 minutes victory.

PSG Quest could only get two kills in the first match, both on Team Spirit's support heroes. In his interview, No!ob discussed what went wrong in the first game.

" Apparently, we always give first game for free. So we weren't really worried there. I think it's draft-related – this Tiny. We shouldn't give Tiny, we wanted to pick Sand King, but they ban. We didn't expect them to know we play it. So they banned it then."

The player reveals how Quest identified the issues and resolved it for their second game.

" I wouldn't say we were in a bad mood. We went out, we said Tiny was the biggest problem and we lost lanes. We reset, we went again and like fresh start – we won."

Quest had never played a Sand King draft in this tournament before. Although the game progressed slowly, Quest's midlane SK checked every box on their checklist. They successfully picked off heroes across the map, took objectives, and promptly shut down every opening Spirit tried to create. After 51 minutes, Quest finally secured the win.

In the deciding game, Spirit chose not to ban Sand King or Naga Siren. Instead, they attempted to counter these heroes. This decision ended up backfiring as Quest dominated the game. In his interview, No!ob shared his thoughts on the matter.

" I'm not sure about game three. Game two, they don't know I play it because I don't really play it. In game three, they thought they can beat it, I think. We were watching draft and got Sand King for free. Naga was extra."

No!ob on their upcoming series

Though PSG Quest took down Team Spirit, which was a big task, there are still many challenges that await them. As they continue their journey at Riyadh Masters 2024 lower brackets, their upcoming series is against Team Falcons.

This team consistently bested them in the qualifiers earlier this season. Quest's midlaner acknowledged the difficulty that awaits them and is determined to give their best.

" Now we go and rest a bit for a few hours. Then, we prepare at night and hopefully, we're ready tomorrow. We need to be 100% percent ready. They're MENA warriors."
