PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the first CS2 Major, kicked off on the 17th of March. The tournament kicked off with the Opening Stage (formerly the Challengers Stage).

With the Opening Stage now concluded, the top eight teams will now move on to the Elimination Stage (formerly the Legends Stage).

Sixteen teams will compete in the Elimination Stage, and only eight will move on to the Royal Arena for the playoffs. The other will have their journeys cut short from the first ever CS2 Major.

Opening Stage Recap:

Sixteen teams took part in the Opening Stage, all vying for the top eight spots.

The five rounds of the Swiss Format were divided into four days of competition.

Heroic and Cloud9 managed to take the top two spots, as they went 3-0.

Eternal Fire, ECSTATIC and paiN Gaming followed suit at 3-1.

The final three spots were claimed by Imperial Esports, The Mongolz and Furia Esports at 3-2 after an intense Round 5.

Elimination Stage:

From March 21st to 24th, 2024, the elimination stage of the tournament will commence, featuring a 16-team Swiss system format.

  • Matches during the elimination and advancement stages will adhere to a Best of 3 format, while all other matches will be Best of 1.
  • Following the conclusion of this stage, the top 8 teams will progress to the playoff stage, while the bottom 8 teams will be eliminated from the competition.
