Morphling is one of the most complex heroes in Dota 2. The hero has challenging mechanics to master. However Morphling is the signature hero for for some players like Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi. In recent days, he has been climbing in pubs with his signature water boi.

In recent days, his account has had an impressive win rate. Although he played different heroes like Troll Warlord, Naga Siren, and Anti Mage, a massive part of this win rate is a result of his masterclass Morphling.

Khanda Morph, A New Threat?

Morphling is the hero that has been gaining in popularity in recent years, although the hero's playstyle has changed a lot. Despite his challenging mechanics to master, the hero becomes a formidable force once the player has learned the basics of it.

In Dota 2 patch 7.35, Valve introduced Khanda, which gives physical damage and amplifies the magical damage of the hero. The item is perfect for Morphling as the hero uses both.

Since the item’s release, players have been testing out different builds on Morphling around Khanda. The most famous one includes the hero’s old item build, consisting of an Ethereal Blade. While the build is a viable option in this meta, Nigma Galaxy’s safelaner has pioneered something new for the hero.

The New Build

While most players love playing shotgun Morph, Amer loves to prioritize physical damage for the hero. His itemization reflects his thoughts on the hero.

Miracle- often rushes to get Yasha after getting his Falcon Blade done. However, he sometimes would pick up Vladmir’s Offering on the hero before getting Yasha.

The player will then finish building his Manta Style. The item is great on Morph because not only does it give agility and attack speed to the hero, but it can also be used to dispel certain debuffs. He usually finishes his Manta around 15 minutes.

The Twist

After completing his Manta, Miracle- will get the first component to build Khanda, Phylactery.

By increasing his mana pool and amplifying the spell damage, the item enables Morph to kite around in early skirmishes while giving him burst potential, making it an overall fantastic item.

After getting Phylactery, it only takes Miracle- two minutes to finish Khanda. He usually gets the item around the 20 to 23-minute mark.

Most players get a Black King Bar or rush Ethereal Blade after Khanda. However, NGX’s safelaner makes decisions on the situation of his match. Although he would pick up a Black King Bar after Khanda in some matches, he often opted for Linkens.

He would often prioritize an item that provides him with extra agility. Thus, in most matches, he went for a Butterfly. In some, he went for a Disperser before getting a Butterfly.

A Brilliant Idea

At first glance, Disperser may seem like a questionable choice. However, after a thorough analysis, it is one of the great choices as a late-game item for the hero.

The item gives Morphling another dispel while slowing the opponents. Additionally, it gives Morph and his allies un-slowable movement speed to kite or catch up to their opponents in skirmishes. Disperser gives mana burn and 40 main attack damage to agility heroes.

Miracle- rounds off his Morphling build by getting the necessary item required for the match. Sometimes it can be a Swift Blink or a Scythe Of Vyse.

The Winrate

Morphling has an 18.42% pick rate with a 45.57% win rate in high-level pubs. However, Miracle- has an 89% win rate on his Morphling in 9 matches. According to Dota 2 Pro Tracker, he has a 75% win rate on his account in recent days.
