After falling short at Worlds 2024, Gen.G have been quick to secure their full roster for the coming LCK 2025 season. Despite the team's domination of the LCK all throughout 2024, Gen.G has opted to make changes to the roster in search of that elusive Worlds trophy.

Between a young up and coming player with very little LCK experience and the return of an old legendary star, the Gen.G squad will don a brand new look during their opening games in the LCK in 2025.

Kiin - The dominant top laner

Kim "Kiin" Gi-in officially re-signed with Gen.G, meaning the team gets to keep their rock-solid top laner. During the 2024 LCK Summer Season, Kiin led all top laners in KDA, while also playing the most unique champions out of all players in his position.

With Kiin on the roster, Gen.G will be glad to have retained a top laner who can seemingly do it all, and do it well.

Canyon - The jungle GOAT

Like Kiin, Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu has re-signed with the team, meaning Gen.G get to keep who may well be the greatest jungler of all time. A former World Champion, x2 LCK MVP and x1 Worlds Finals MVP, Canyon has displayed incredible longevity at the very top of the international jungle pool.

Now, Gen.G will look to him to lead the way back towards international glory.

Chovy - Lane Kingdom

The man, the myth, the legend, Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon will be donning the Gen.G colors once more during the LCK 2025 season. One of the most dominant mid laners the game has ever seen, is it really a shock that Chovy led all mid laners in KDA, kills per game, damage per minute, and CS per minute during the 2024 LCK Summer Season?

The one stain in the star mid laner's record, however, is the World Championship. Can 2025 finally be the year Chovy displays that same level of dominance on the international stage on his way to a first Worlds title?

Ruler - A star returns

In the ADC position, Gen.G will see an old legendary player return in the form of Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk. After spending several years leading Gen.G to countless trophies, including a World Championship with the former iteration of Gen.G, Samsung Galaxy, Ruler left the team in search of greener pastures over in the LPL.

Following his two year stint with JD Gaming, which included lifting the MSI trophy in 2023, Ruler will be returning home to compete in the LCK in 2025 and push Gen.G one step closer to Worlds glory.

Duro - A new face down south

To round out the roster, Gen.G are bringing in Joo "Duro" Min-kyu to partner up with Ruler in the bot lane. The support player has spent most of his career in the South Korean tier 2 scene so far, though he made the jump over to the LCK last year by competing in the 2024 Summer Season, Summer Playoffs, and Regional Finals with BNK FearX.

While Duro may lack experience, his playmaking abilities were in full display last season, as BNK FearX's win rate immediately spiked as he joined the team. Now, Duro will have the difficult task of filling Lehends' shoes on the Gen.G roster, and the only way to do that will be by lifting trophies.

Gen.G's full roster for the LCK 2025 season:

  • Top: Kim "Kiin" Gi-in
  • Jgl: Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu
  • Mid: Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon
  • ADC: Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk
  • Supp: Joo "Duro" Min-kyu

With the level of domination team put up in the LCK in 2024, the bar will be high for this new Gen.G roster coming into 2025. A single international trophy, however, can prove to be the difference in the end.
