According to Sheep Esports’ Alejandro “anonimotum” Gomis’ report, NRG has decided to bring back Sam “s0m” Oh and Pujan “FNS” Mehta for VCT Americas 2024 Split 2.

The returning players will replace Jimmy “MARVED” Nyugen and Max “Demon1” Mazanov on the starting roster.

As previously discussed the changes follow the disappointing conclusion of Split 1, where the team of previous champions underperformed heavily and even missed the playoffs.

The roster move marks the return of s0m and FNS who were previously part of the NRG roster in 2023.

Together with Crashies and Victor, the team attended all the three International events and were considered a top team globally.

The downfall for the roster started when they lost to Paper Rex at Masters Tokyo, who were playing with a sub at the time.

At the following VALORANT Champions 2023, the roster lost to Bilibili Gaming twice in the group stage leading to their elimination from the tournament.

The result led to an implosion, leading to the departure for FNS, s0m and ardiis. Ardiis later rejoined his former-FPX teammates in Natus Vincere and s0m and FNS turned to streaming.

They played together and their streams hosted thousands of regular viewers. The duo’s popularity reached a peak during VCT Americas regular season, where they hosted watch parties alongside Tarik.

Recently, the duo has been inactive leading to multiple speculations of them returning to active competition. FNS will likely take over the IGL duties from Ethan, while s0m will play as the team’s controller.

With the rumored roster moves, the NRG squad for VCT Americas Split 2 will be as follows:

The team will debut against Sentinels at VCT Americas Split 2. Follow NRG X (prev. Twitter) for the official announcement, You can also track the roster on Strafe.
