Legendary Korean organization, DWG KIA have rebranded to Dplus KIA, just in time for the upcoming 2023 League of Legends LCK season.

Dplus KIA rebrand

DWG KIA has rebranded to Dplus KIA, fit with a new logo, a new set of jerseys, and a currently in-progress website. This is the second rebrand for the DAMWON organization, originally known as DAMWON Gaming from 2017 to 2020. Following a partnership with South Korean car manufacturer KIA Motors, DAMWON Gaming would rebrand to DAMWON Kia in December 2020.

Dplus KIA has won two domestic titles in the LCK, as well as winning the prestigious Worlds Championship in 2020.

According to a press release through businesswire, the newly branded organization plans to debut the organization's new branding during the Team Deft V.S. Team Faker show-match. The battle of two of the LCK's most legendary players will take place on January 10 during the Official LCK Season Kickoff Event.

Roster Status

The roster remains unchanged despite a rebrand. The organization's roster is made up of some of the best talent Korean League of Legends has to offer. Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, Heo "ShowMaker" Su, and Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu have all won a Worlds title. An astounding 3/5ths of this roster have hoisted the Summoners Cup.

This is to say the other two players in Kim "Canna" Chang-dong and Kim "Kellin" Hyeong-gyu are no slouches either. Canna and Kellin have both shown excellent displays of skill on the LCK stage, playing for organizations like T1 and Gen.G.

It will certainly be exciting to see how Dplus KIA shows up this coming LCK season, and a rebrand is sure to stoke the excitement further.
