Danish esports organization, Preasy, has made a significant roster change as they gear up for the PGL Copenhagen 2024 Major. The five-time Major champion, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, joins the team, replacing Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi, who is heading to Heroic.

Preasy's Coach, Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg, expressed confidence in dupreeh's ability to fill the void left by nicoodoz. Despite the latter's impressive online performance, Preasy sees dupreeh as a valuable addition, citing his wealth of experience as a key factor in the decision.

Long-Term Commitment and Major Aspirations

Vorborg confirmed that dupreeh has committed to a long-term project with Preasy. However, the focus for the Danish veteran is unmistakably on the upcoming Major in Copenhagen.

"I've had several offers from top teams, but ultimately, it didn't work out in my favor. I saw myself in a situation where the Major in Copenhagen was potentially slipping further away… You won't see me standing on the sidelines without having given it everything to try to get a seat at the table."

The decision to join Preasy was influenced by the organization's track record, particularly with Copenhagen Flames. Dupreeh, having played in multiple Majors, expressed a desire to give back to the Danish CS grassroots scene. Although he did acknowledge that they may not be favorites, his dedication is fierce.

AWPer-Less Approach: Following Cloud9's Lead

With dupreeh's arrival, Preasy adopts a unique approach, playing without a designated AWPer, similar to Cloud9. Vorborg pointed to a statistical analysis conducted in November, indicating a slight drop-off in AWPers' performance in Counter-Strike 2. Preasy was already less reliant on the AWP, with nicoodoz securing only 22.5% of his kills using the sniper rifle in the new game.

Vorborg emphasized the team's evolving playstyle, stating,

"We think the AWP has gotten relatively weaker, and we've found a playstyle less dependent on it."

However, he added that they would still deploy the AWP strategically against certain playstyles.

New Look for Preasy's Danish Roster

With dupreeh's addition, Preasy now boasts an all-Danish roster:

Head Coach: Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg

As Preasy redefines its lineup and sets its sights on the Copenhagen Major, the absence of a traditional AWPer raises questions about their strategic approach. Can they adapt to the evolving dynamics of Counter-Strike 2 and secure success at the upcoming Major?
