Veteran LCS jungler Can “Closer” Çelik is set for a homecoming in Europe after 5 years as he is officially announced as the new starting jungler for Karmine Corp. Former Karmine Corp jungle Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo has been allowed to explore his options in the meantime.

The Turkish jungler has spent the last 5 years in North America, first on Golden Guardians, then 100 Thieves, before now returning to EMEA. This also marks his debut in the LEC, as prior to this, he had only competed in the TCL under a fair number of teams.

Closer is most well-known for his time on 100 Thieves, where in 2021, he alongside his teammates, won the LCS 2021 Championship.

First but perhaps not the last

This move by Karmine Corp marks their first official roster change since the end of the Spring Split. The organization continues to freefall in a death spiral within the LEC as they finish bottom of the league in both Winter and Spring Splits.

This comes after the dismissal of former head coach Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi after a disastrous debut split. Following that, Karmine Corp brought on a new head coach, only to find the same result once again at the end of the split.

Currently Karmine Corp boasts some of the most ferocious talent in EMEA, including recognized ADC talent Elias “Upset” Lipp, as well as former Team Vitality jungler Bo. However, despite the obvious talent on the roster, it seemed to miss a vital element that could lead them to championships.

Karmine Corp find themselves a newcomer to the LEC after Astralis departed from the league, leading the popular French organization to slide in. However, deep into their first year, they continue to struggle to find results amidst the turmoil of missing synergy.

Rebuilding Around A New Jungler

According to a report by Alejandro Gomis, Karmine Corp’s priority was to rebuild around a new jungler. This revelation comes as an especial shock, considering information that has been released via the voice comms, which suggests Bo to be among the most communicative on the roster, and a key piece that holds together the already frail synergy on the team.

The future of Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo is currently uncertain but he has been allowed to explore options.
