Bilibili Gaming (BLG) defeated Weibo Gaming (WBG) in quick fashion in the grand finals of the LPL Summer Playoffs to lift their second LPL trophy of the year.

The team's 3-0 victory in the finals means that BLG will end the year having won all domestic competitions.

Now, with the World Championship around the corner, all eyes will be on BLG and whether or not they will be able to conquer at the most prestigious tournament in the scene, one which they will be attending as China's first seed.

A lesson in perseverance

Game 1

BLG came into the series as the uncontested favorite to take home the trophy. WBG, however, came out off the gates with different intentions.

Off the back of a great early game by Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong on Zyra, WBG set off to a great start in the series.

It wasn't long, however, before BLG's experience started to shine through, as the team managed to attain a gold lead over WBG despite being behind in kills.

Ultimately, the moment that sealed WBG's fate came when they unwisely opted to start the baron while BLG circled the pit like sharks. Not only did Yangwei "Wei" Yan manage to steal the baron, but BLG even managed to pick up a flurry kills after WBG's failed execution, leading to a quick game finish.

Game 2

Game 2 of the series was a whole different story. BLG decided to show off their class in a game that looked more like a predator playing with his food than a game of professional League of Legends.

WBG simply had no answer for Wei and Knight popping up all over the map to assert an amount of pressure that quickly had Weibo asking to be put out of their misery.

In case the picture remains unclear, just know that the killscore for the game ended at 29-6 in favor of BLG, with Knight's KDA finishing at a whopping 10/1/13 on Zeri in the mid lane.

Glad to be able to turn the page, WBG showed up to game 3 a renewed team.

Game 3

In similar fashion to game 1, the third game of the series saw WBG put up a commendable performance. The team managed to amass a sizeable gold lead over BLG, one to which they held on to for a large portion of the game.

The pivotal moment in the game came, you guessed it, around the baron pit yet again. WBG managed to secure the objective this time, but at a costly price.

The fight that ensued the baron take saw Jiaohao "Elk" Zhao run rampant over WBG. Granted all the space he needed by his teammates, Elk's Jhin wiped out Weibo, collecting a penta kill for himself in the process.

Despite a couple of nice picks from WBG that helped them get back in control, BLG found a convincing final team-fight win around mid lane in order to close out the game, and series.

Knight dominates the region

The win over the WBG marks Knight's fourth LPL title in a row, having won both LPL splits in 2023 with JD Gaming.

Knight's historic feat underscores a level of dominance in the mid lane that only the likes of Chovy have been able to match.

As if that was not impressive enough, Knight was also named MVP of the finals following his impressive performances on Smolder and Zeri.

Having lost against Chovy and Gen.G in the finals of this year's Mid-Season Invitational, Knight will come into the World Championship hungry to show the globe he's also got what it takes to dominate at the biggest international tournament.
