League of Legends Worlds 2023 continues through the Swiss Stage. The matchup draws for Day 2 have now been revealed. A major point of excitement and consternation is the number of domestic matchups that have been revealed to be incoming. Day 2 will begin on the 20th of October.

Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage Day 2 Schedule

NRG Esports vs Team Liquid [6am BST]

Yet another NA classico, NRG faces off against Team Liquid following their defeat at the hands of China and Korea in day 1. Team Liquid in particular, showed some fire with their close game against T1, edging them personally as the favorites to win this series. Strafe viewers also give the edge to Liquid, with 68% of the votes out of 917 predictions.

Cloud9 vs LNG Esports [7am BST]

North America’s victory does not go unpunished, as Cloud9 now has to face LNG Esports. Cloud9’s form today in their victory over MAD Lions will be truly tested against a team many consider to be China’s second best. Strafe Esports viewers have voted 86% in favor of LNG out of 905 votes.

MAD Lions vs BDS [8am BST]

A disappointing loss for MAD and a tough early matchup for BDS now find the pair matched up in the second round of the Swiss Stage. MAD struggled to perform well against Cloud9’s gameplan, delivering EU’s first loss. Meanwhile, BDS similarly struggled against JDG, despite attempting to counter with an oppressive top lane matchup. In this EU vs EU matchup, BDS is favored, with 66% of the 919 predictions favoring them.

Fnatic vs GAM Esports [9am BST]

In this fourth game of the day, Fnatic have a chance to redeem themselves against Vietnam’s sole remaining representative. GAM, for their part, showed massive struggles facing off against Gen.G in their opening match. This would be the perfect match for both these teams to recover some of their form. Strafe viewers have voted 85% of the 925 predictions towards Fnatic.

Gen.G vs T1 [10am BST]

South Korea’s 1st and 2nd seed face off in a domestic matchup in the second round of the Swiss stage. While T1’s victory over Team Liquid was fairly close, Gen.G’s victory over GAM left little doubt that they had come to play this Worlds. Strafe viewers are torn on this matchup, with 55% of the 928 votes going to Gen.G.

G2 Esports vs Weibo Gaming [11am BST]

Having cleanly taken down NRG, Weibo now faces off against the Kings of Europe in this exciting second game of the Swiss Stage. Despite G2’s victory today, shaky mid-game decision-making does throw some questioning light on whether G2 can maintain their winning form against a strong Chinese side tomorrow. Strafe Esports viewers have predicted a G2 esports win, however, with a 74% prediction out of 864 votes.

JD Gaming vs Bilibili Gaming [12pm BST]

In a rematch of the MSI 2023 finals, the top two seeds of the LPL face off in an early domestic battle at Worlds 2023. Both BLG and JDG demonstrated tremendous skill and steadiness in their opening games, having taken down KT Rolster and BDS in their opening bouts. While the victor for this match is not entirely clear, Strafe viewers have overwhelmingly predicted a JD Gaming victory, with 90% of the votes out of 861.

KT Rolster vs Dplus KIA [1pm BST]

Following their subsequent defeats by China and Europe, Korea’s 3rd and 4th seeds now seek to extend their stay at Worlds with a win to balance their results. While Dplus came into the G2 game with a strong concept and execution, their inability to close out the game could come back to haunt them against KT, who showed themselves very willing to play the long game with a scaling/dueling comp. Strafe viewers have predicted KT to win, with 62% of the 866 predictions for them.
