Tarzan was brought in earlier this year to replace Peng "Xiaohao" Hao after WBG’s 5th-6th place finish in the LPL Spring 2024 split. His presence revitalized the team, leading to strong performances in LPL Summer 2024 and the LPL Regional Finals 2024, where they secured second place in both events.

Tarzan also played a pivotal role in helping WBG reach the semifinals at Worlds 2024, an impressive feat that ended in a narrow defeat to Bilibili Gaming. With Tarzan’s contract expiring in November, WBG has brought in a World Champion to build on their recent success.

Tian’s Track Record with Top Esports

The 2019 Worlds winning jungler has since joined Top Esports for the 2022 season. During his time at the organization, Tian has been a cornerstone for Top Esports, bringing consistent performances that helped the team secure significant achievements, including second-place finishes at LPL Spring 2024 and the Esports World Cup.

However, the team struggled to make deeper runs at other major events like MSI 2024 and Worlds 2024, where they exited in the top 8. With his move to WBG, Tian brings experience, mechanical prowess, and a hunger to push for domestic and international glory.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Weibo Gaming have yet to finalise their squad for the upcoming season. Currently, they are competing in NEST 2024 using substitute players. Thereby suggesting they may still be fine-tuning their strategies before committing to a final lineup.

Tian’s signing reinforces WBG’s ambition to dominate the domestic scene and go further on the international stage. With the signing, they aim to solidify their identity and take another step toward lifting the Summoner’s Cup. Fans will eagerly anticipate how Tian will perform under the new banner.
