VALORANT has temporarily disabled Omen across all game modes after a critical bug was discovered involving his Dark Cover (E) ability.

The bug, first flagged by Wolves Esports Head Coach Fayde on May 31st, allowed Omen players to “ghost” around the map while using the “real world” equip of Dark Cover (E).

Players could move freely, see opponents, and even hear footsteps — all while being invisible. Naturally, this completely broke the competitive integrity of the game.

The bug likely slipped into the game with Patch 10.10, which went live on May 27th. It flew under the radar for a few days, probably because most Omen players don’t use the real-world equip to deploy their smokes.

The delay in catching and addressing it might have affected the outcome of multiple matches since the patch dropped.

Riot has now confirmed that Omen will be disabled in all game modes — Competitive, Unrated, Deathmatch, Practice, everything — until the issue is fixed. The agent is expected to return as early as tomorrow, once a hotfix goes out.
