PGL Astana Grand Finals Recap

Dust2 - Astralis 5:13 Spirit

Spirit set the tone for the grand final with a commanding performance on Dust2. Their CT side was nearly impenetrable, racing to an 11-1 lead at halftime. While Astralis found a glimmer of hope in the second round, thanks to a sensational 4-kill hold by stavn, Spirit’s defense proved too hot to handle.

donk’s relentless multi-kills and clinical positioning stifled every Astralis attempt to gain ground, and even though the Danes managed to pick up a few rounds after the side switch, Spirit’s early dominance meant the result was never in doubt.

Nuke - Astralis 10:13 Spirit

Nuke brought a much tighter contest, with both teams trading rounds in a tense first half that ended 6-6. Astralis wanted to capitalize their map pick really bad, especially after Staehr's 4k with the M4A1-S during a B site offensive.

However, Spirit’s stars stepped up when it mattered most. donk produced a breathtaking 4k on Yard defense, while sh1ro kept Spirit in the fight with a 1v2 clutch after the bomb was planted.

As the map reached its climax, chopper pulled off an outstanding 1v3 clutch in a pre-plant situation to put Spirit on map point. It was donk who sealed the deal, winning a dramatic 1v4 post-plant clutch to secure Spirit’s second map and a commanding series lead.

Mirage - Astralis 13:5 Spirit

With the pressure mounting, Astralis responded in style on Mirage. They edged ahead 7-5 at halftime, then unleashed a flawless 6-0 run on their CT side to close out the map. Spirit’s donk tried to spark a comeback with a 4k AK entry on the B site, but Astralis’s defense was simply too strong.

The Danes’ teamwork and aggression suffocated Spirit’s offense, and round after round, Astralis shut down any hope of a Spirit resurgence, storming back into the series with a statement win.

Train - Astralis 13:16 Spirit (OT)

Train proved a fitting battleground for the decider, with both teams trading blows in a nail-biting contest. Astralis took an early lead, finishing the first half up 8-4, but Spirit refused to back down. After the sides switched, Spirit clawed their way back, forcing overtime with a series of well-coordinated executes and clutch plays.

The defining moment came deep in overtime, as donk delivered a breathtaking 1v2 AWP clutch in a tense post-plant situation, swinging momentum firmly in Spirit’s favor. With the finish line in sight, Spirit closed out Train 16-13, securing the championship and sending their fans into celebration.

Spirit’s moment of glory at PGL Astana 2025

With a 3-1 victory over Astralis, Team Spirit are your PGL Astana 2025 champions. Their run was defined by star performances, ice-cold clutches, and an unbreakable team spirit.

As the confetti falls in Astana, donk and his teammates have put their name in another chapter of Counter-Strike history.
