Team Secret has had a roller coaster of a year for the 2022-2023 DPC Season. At the Winter Tour, they got relegated to Division II. The team made major roster changes after Winter Tour and played in  Division II for the Spring Tour. With their new roster, Team Secret dominated the WEU region losing only to D2 Hustlers and regained their momentum, eventually getting promoted back to Division I for the Summer Tour.

Although the team triumphed over the obstacles they faced on the road back to Division I, they struggled to keep up the same performance at Division I. The teams at Division I were also much better than they had anticipated.

The Cracks

At Division I, Team Secret lost their debut series against Team Liquid. The following series against Gaimin Gladiators, the back-to-back Major Champions, didn’t go well for Secret either. Team Secret managed to take win in their series against OG, but OG came back stronger and took the series.

They managed to win the series against D2 Hustlers, the team that got promoted along with them from Division II. However, in their next series, Team Secret failed to keep up the momentum gained from the series against D2 Hustlers and lost against Entity. This loss cost tremendously for Team Secret, with the team’s seat in Division I in jeopardy.

The Consequences

Due to their performance at the Summer Tour, Team Secret’s Bali Major hopes are in jeopardy. The team can, however, keep their seat at Division I and force the tiebreakers series if they win their next two series. Team Secret can force a tiebreaker series for their slot if they win against Quest Esports. Quest Esports is also currently struggling to find its footing.

However, it is an uphill battle against Tundra Esports. The TI champions are dominating the Division I groups in WEU.   Moreover, the team has no points for the DPC 2022-2023 Season, meaning the team will have to go through the qualifiers if they want to get a seat at this year’s International at Seattle.

Puppey’s Warning

Team Secret has been steadily climbing the ranks at The International each year. This year it is their time to become the champions as they placed the runner-ups at The International 2022. Although Team Secret are no stranger to this curse that haunted the team in the prior Ti(s), their igl Puppey is confident that his team will come on top at this year's iteration of  The International.
