As the Elimination Stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major reaches its climax. Six teams are left battling for the final three spots in the playoffs. Among them, two titans—the reigning Major champions, Natus Vincere, and a resurgent Heroic—are set to clash in a do-or-die elimination match.

With everything on the line, this matchup promises drama, high-level Counter-Strike, and potential heartbreak for one of these storied teams.

NaVi’s Turbulent Road to Survival

Natus Vincere entered the Shanghai Major with significant expectations but struggled to find their footing. While they opened their campaign with a win against Team Liquid, subsequent losses, including a crushing 13-2 defeat at the hands of Team Spirit, highlighted their struggles.

But with their backs against the walls, the Black and Yellow outfit have managed to slowly regain their form, evident by their win against GamerLegion to stave off elimination for one more day.

The core issues for NaVi run deeper than just results. Star rifler and former Major MVP Justinas "jL" Lekavičius has not been able to play to his full potential. He has been carried by his team this time. To add to that, even Valerij "b1t" Vakhovsjkyj has displayed inconsistency, oscillating between brilliance and mediocrity.

With only Mihai "iM" Ivan putting up consistent performances for the team, NaVi will need to get their thoughts in order if they want to defend their title. After a year of spectacular Counter-Strike, this would be a poor way to end the year for the Ukrainian outfit.

Heroic’s Resurgence Under Kyxsan

Heroic have been having a resurgence in recent days after replacing their long-time IGL, Casper "cadiaN" Møller, with Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski. And they have been slowly but surely coming up as a force to be reckoned with.

Before coming into the Major, they had quite decent results at their last 3 tournament outings. And this elevation in form showed, as the Danish team managed to put themselves at 2-0 right at the beginning of the Elimination Stage, beating out BIG and FaZe Clan.

However, their momentum stalled with back-to-back losses to The MongolZ and Team Spirit, leaving Heroic one defeat away from elimination. Despite this, Heroic have reasons for optimism. Guy "NertZ" Iluz has been having quite the tournament, showing up for the team and handing out haircuts as and when the team needs. Along with him, Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov has found his stride with the AWP, contributing with critical and impactful plays.

But questions will be asked of them due to their last two losses and their failure to close out the 3-0. Whether it was a skill issue or a mental one will remain to be seen.

For NaVi, a loss here would mark a bitter conclusion to what has been an otherwise stellar year. For Heroic, elimination would derail the momentum they’ve been building under kyxsan’s leadership.

In a match of such importance, the smallest mistakes could be the difference between playoff glory and a forgettable exit. Expect nothing less than fireworks as these two teams leave everything on the server.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
