Nigma Galaxy had a rough season, and they have been struggling for quite some time now. After getting relegated for the second time, with a bit of luck, Nigma Galaxy found themselves with an envelope to DreamLeague Season 19. Going into the DreamLeague, the team made minor changes regarding its roster.

The team’s hard-carry player Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, was moved to the inactive roster as the fan-favourite Amer “Miracle-” Al Bakawi returned as a standin’ for the team to find some success during their DreamLeague run. However, even with Miracle-’s return, expectations faltered, and Nigma Galaxy’s DreamLeague run ended in group stages.

A Marvellous Return

Despite getting eliminated in the group stages, Miracle-’s return was a success. As fans eagerly watched and cheered, their favourite player, Miracle- performed marvellously. Playing his signature heroes like Slark, Morphling and Anti Mage, the once-Ti champion, reminded people what his prime looks like.

Due to his exceptional plays, Nigma Galaxy was able to draw their series against Team Spirit, The International 2021 Champions. In their series against Talon Esports, who is undefeated in the SEA region, Miracle- got an early 18 minutes Rampage with Anti Mage. Nigma Galaxy also won their series against Talon Esports with a 2-0 victory. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. With a score Nigma Galaxy placed 7th in Group B and got eliminated.

An Uncertain Future

After re-igniting the hopes of Nigma Galaxy fans, Miracle- got back to his break. The surprise roster shuffle with the gratitude message for Miracle- caught the fans off guard. At the same time the announcement was made, ATF was a guest on Gorgc’s stream.

When the host asked ATF whether he was off the bench, ATF simply replied

“ I don’t effing know yet”,

drawing different conclusions from the crowd.

Currently, with zero DPC points to their name, recruiting a new player will be difficult for Nigma Galaxy. Furthermore, to have a chance to go to The International 2023, NGX will have to participate in the qualifiers. Regardless of the results, fans were delighted to see Miracle- perform close to his peak performance at DreamLeague Season 19.
